finally apologizing

Summary:

"Ollie stepped slightly closer and Kimi backed up, almost into some wall that he swears wasn't there two minutes ago. The taller boy trailed his hand over to Kimi's chin, tilting it up slightly. 'But, you were acting completely normal up on that stage. What happened there, hm?' Kimi blinked, his mind going completely blank. He tried twisting his head away from Ollie's grip, but the latter's fingers only dug in tighter.

The Italian eventually gave up on fighting, letting his head tilt back further to feel the shadow of a kiss that never came. He felt the Brits fingers twitch against his skin as if he suddenly realized what he was doing."

Ollie and Kimi broke up early in the 2026 season. They chose not to talk to each other; an unspoken decision they both agreed on. Until, a string of texts from a random number and Fan Forum where they have to interact ruin it for the both of them.

...aka the wrong number au that nobody asked for 🥹

Chapter Text

16:25

25 June 2026

Spielberg, Austria.

Unknown:

lmfao dude did you see the way he looked at you as we left?

like he’s in LOVE with you.

that’s how yk who used to look at me

The notifications popped up on Kimi’s phone seemingly out of nowhere, making his mind perk up in interest and take a pause from his idle doomscrolling. He clicked on the three new notifications completely out of curiosity on what was going on. Then, he furrowed his eyebrows slightly as he read the numbers in his mind not once, but twice.

He wasn’t sure if it was anyone he personally knew. A while back, he did get a new number. But, he was sure he put everyone that was deemed seriously important to him into his contacts, though he was starting to doubt himself now.

The text messages just felt eerily similar for some odd reason, and that sat heavily in his chest. It just felt like an old friend, or someone like— He cut himself off before it could have became a bigger thought. He couldn’t think about Ollie right now. Especially right before he had to go out and act like everything was completely fine in front of the media.

The Italian was quick to scoff to himself in his empty drivers room. He couldn’t blame this person who somehow came across his number, but everything was seeming to piss him off at this moment. Plus, he was pretty sure George was supposed to be at his door any moment now to bother him about the Fan Forum in twenty minutes.

He could’ve ignored the text. It’s only a random number, what’s the harm in having a little fun? He bit his tongue as he typed out a response and got up from his comfy spot on the couch.

you have the wrong number mate

sorry

buuutttt who’s in love with who 👀👀

The teenager rolled his eyes like he didn’t add on to the conversation. As soon as he saw the bubble coming back to respond, he turned off his phone and decided to ignore the buzz coming from it as he haphazardly threw it onto the couch. And to top everything off, a knock fell onto his door.

“I’m coming!” Kimi held his tongue so he didn’t sound so annoyed at whatever poor soul knocked on his door. He grabbed a sweatshirt he threw by the coat rack, but didn’t quite make it onto the hook. Then, he slipped on his sneakers with ease and threw the door open to see an impatient George Russell. Kimi lazily adjusted his cap as he waited. The older man was glaring at his watch and tapping his foot like he was timing Kimi before he averted his attention to his teammate.

“You beat your record of eighteen point four seconds.” The Brit stated, his eyes beaming with some kind of pride. A sly smirk formed on his lips when Kimi groaned in response. Kimi raised a brow when his teammate didn't move at all. After a few seconds, he scoffed as he pushed through George and started walking ahead. “Ah, please, is this another edgy teenager phase? At least pretend you enjoy my company.” George joked, which earned a giggle fall out of the youngers throat.

Then, he gasped slightly in mock annoyance as he brought his hands to hold his chest. “When have I ever been in an edgy teenager phase!” George didn’t reply to the younger boys question right away, only swinging his arm over Kimi’s shoulder and shaking his head with a smile plastering his face.

“I am not answering that.” George’s eyes somewhat crinkled at the edges as he smiled. He started to lead the both of them towards one of the back doors of the hospitality. Kimi narrowed his eyes as he looked up to meet George's eyes.

Kimi grumbled under his breath, breaking eye contact and staring down at his feet. “You started it.” The two of them stopped at one of the ‘secret’ doors, both waiting for the other to take the first step out.

George’s demeanor shifted slightly when he saw the tiny frown on his teammates lips. He squinted his eyes, determined to figure out what was troubling Kimi in the first place. “I’m just joking around with you. C’mon, we have to start going to the Fan Stage.” The Italian stuck his tongue out like a child and George took his arm away from its place around Kimi’s shoulder.

“It doesn’t start for another twenty minutes.” Kimi stated childishly, giving a slight glare to George. His teammate lightly pushed him to the side and started bolting out to God knows where. “George!” Kimi called out as he suddenly realized they were racing. He heard giggling as soon as he called out and he forced himself to pick up the pace. He registered some people looking at George with a confused expression and Kimi tried waving at them as he ran.

George took a sharp left turn into an alley with Kimi following closely behind. The duo both stopped. Kimi caught his breath and next to him George was knocking on a door. Kimi quickly realized where the duo was and gave a confused look to George who just had a sly smile on his face.

Kimi tilted his head as George scoffed, pounding on the door again. “George, why are we here?” His teammate only shook his head and fished his phone out of his pocket. “Georgeee.” Kimi dragged out his name as he tried again, a bit louder this time.

“Max wanted to hang out with us before we had to go,” George responded instinctively as he was angrily texting on his phone, probably to the Dutch driver. Kimi blinked, processing Georges words as if they were in another language.

“Max?” Was the only thought that came to the Italian’s mind. George and Max supposedly hated each other to the public eye, but Kimi has seen them be civil to each other on multiple occasions. "Are we thinking about the same Max?"

George furrowed his brows like the two of them hanging out was normal. "We hang out with Max a lot, what's the problem?" The Brit blinked at his teammate.

“Seriously, don't tell me you two are getting along now.” Kimi groaned like it was a bad thing for his grid parents to get along.

George only whipped his head around to look at the shorter. “Wow, you really are tetchy today!” The senior driver quickly changed the subject and just as Kimi was about to retort, magically Max decided to open the door.

Kimi rolled his eyes as George suddenly wanted to act like he was in love with the Red bull driver. Max rubbed at his neck as he looked at both of the Mercedes drivers, confused on what the tension was between them. “Why do you two both look like angry kittens?” Max questioned, stepping out of the door and shutting it behind him.

George and Kimi both huffed out of annoyance at the same time which made a smirk form on Max’s lips. “You both are acting weirder than usual.” Kimi murmured to himself. The teenager decided to walk between them and stare straight ahead. He could tell the older drivers were sharing looks about his behavior, but he couldn’t bring himself to care. “So, what are we doing?” Kimi decided to change the topic and forced himself to smile as they walked out of the alley.

“Walking around.” George shrugged, sending another look to Max before focusing back onto Kimi. A few fans stopped the trio, asking them to sign something or to take a photo. None of it bothered Kimi the slightest, he loved his fans!

Just as he was signing another hat, he saw Lando and Oscar appear from the corner of his eye talking to George and Max. He started to make his way over to the group before they all just stopped their conversation. Kimi awkwardly scratched at the back of his neck as they all resembled deer in headlights as he stepped closer. “Ciao.” He mumbled and Lando gave him a toothy grin like nothing happened before putting out his hand for the younger to dap him up. Oscar stood there with a tight-lipped smile as he waited for Kimi to dap him up too. "Are you guys excited for the stage?" Kimi tried starting a conversation. The McLaren teammates only looked at each other, then at George and Max. The younger boy blinked as he waited patiently for an answer from any of them at this point.

Lando spun his heels, grabbing George by the arm and leading the both of them away. Oscar furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at the two walk away. "Um, okay." Oscar replied to whatever just happened and then looked back at Kimi. The Australian sighed to himself, realizing he had to tell Kimi the bad news. "Something came up, Lando and I aren't going to be at the Fan Stage." He frowned as he watched Kimi's face fall slightly.

"Oh," The Mercedes driver replied softly. Kimi was confused to say the least. It wasn't the worst news he's ever been received. The entire group were acting like parents that didn't want their kid to know about a certain conversation. "So, who's taking your place?" He watched as Oscar scratched the back of his scalp sheepishly. And on cue, George and Lando came stumbling back. Lando gave Oscar a look that Kimi couldn't decipher. Max just stood there, now sporting a Red bull he pulled out of thin air. "Who's taking McLarens place?" Kimi asked again, facing George this time who just looked guilty.

"Haas." George clenched his jaw as he knew Kimi's whole attitude was going to take another 360, and not for the better. The group stayed silent, watching Kimi's reaction like hawks.

The Italian ignored how his heart clenched slightly at the tiniest mention of Ollie. "Okay." He replied quietly, not wanting to cause an unnecessary scene in the middle of the Paddock. He saw Georges lungs rise up and down as if he was sighing in relief. "You're still going to be on stage with me though, right?" Kimi joked but he cringed when it kind of just sounded desperate.

"Yeah," George shook his head fondly. "I'm not leaving you that easily." Kimi knew his teammate was dying to say something else to Kimi, but he wasn't about to do it in public where people could easily jump in. The teenager tried to push down the nerves that were bundling in his stomach.

Suddenly, a media assistant decked out in Mercedes merch came up to the duo. "Sorry to bother," she started as George spun his attention to give the poor girl a sympathetic smile. "They want to start the Fan Stage just a little bit earlier…" She trailed off as she sighed, motioning for the duo to just follow her.

Once they reached the back entrance of the stage, the duo could already hear fans booming in excitement. "You ready?" George's tone was careful. Kimi breathed in as they trotted up the steps.

"Of course I am." The younger scoffed like George's question was obvious. He bit the inside of his cheek nervously. Then, people started pushing them out onto the stage. The crowd was massive. Kimi gave a little wave as he tried staying as close to George as possible.

He swore he felt his heart drop all the way to his ass when his eyes landed right on Ollie's. He immediately dropped his gaze to his feet as the crowd was cheering for the two Haas teammates.

George moved slightly closer to his teammate, almost acting as a shield. When George's arm slightly brushed over Kimi’s shoulder, he let himself let out a breath of relief. The Italian decided to wave at the crowd once more to try and shake off some of his nerves.

Suddenly, Ollie appeared next to him, smiling and putting out his hand for him. Kimi looked up slightly as he raised an eyebrow at the Haas driver. Ollie's face didn't change as the two awkwardly hugged. The twenty-one year old then moved on, greeting George. Esteban also came out of nowhere and gave a big smile to the two Mercedes drivers.

"Give it up for Haas and Mercedes, everyone!" The host beamed as she motioned to the two teams. The group of drivers waved eagerly to the crowd, putting on their best smiles as they glanced around the sea of fans and reading a few of the signs.

Somehow, Ollie ended up on the other side of him. The boy was waving to the crowd as the host already started to ask questions. Kimi pretended to nod along to whatever question was asked to George.

After what felt like a century of questions, Ollie brought the mic to his mouth and started answering a question the host had. The Italian beside him blinked, he had absolutely no clue what his ex-teammate was asked.

Kimi clenched his jaw as Ollie just kept on talking. He didn’t know why they both were acting like nothing happened between them. It was pissing Kimi off so much that he wasn’t even paying attention to whatever Ollie got asked until he heard his own name fall out of the Brits lips.

“Obviously, I’m not doing as well as Kimi,” Ollie smiled towards the crowd, not batting an eye to the look Kimi was even giving him. The Italian subtly tried looking over to George who just narrowed his eyes slightly. Ollie looked over to his ex-teammate and when they made contact, Kimi had to bite his tongue to stop himself from going crazy. “Seriously, you’re really doing amazing, mate.” Ollie was close enough to clasp his hand onto Kimi’s shoulder. Kimi swore he felt his eye twitch in anger once but he smiled anyway. He had to remind himself that all this acting this was purely for the media.

“Thank you,” Kimi held his mic up his mouth. He noticed his hands were shaking to the point where he prayed that the crowd was too far to see. He forced himself to return a smile to Ollie and nod.

The host pouted her lips, “aw, cancel the bearnelli divorce!” She joked lightly, making the crowd laugh along. Kimi decided to adjust his cap to try and hide the blush he knew was creeping up his face. The interviewer then moved on to bother either Esteban or George, Kimi wasn't paying attention to whose name was called.

Kimi ignored his mind blaring at him not to whisper into Ollie's ear. He put his hand around his mouth as he leaned closer to Ollie, with the taller subconsciously leaning over to listen in. “You’ll be good competition when you get to Ferrari, don’t worry.” The Brit could hear the smirk on Kimi’s lips as he spoke. Ollie couldn’t help but snort and pull Kimi into a slight hug.

“Of course,” Ollie winked. Both of them were asked a question, and both jumped out of whatever trance they were in. The two of them laughed, and it felt like a weight was being lifted from both of their shoulders.

“Sorry, what was the question?” Kimi couldn’t get the smile wiped off his face for the life of him. He couldn’t stop thinking about how it felt like the both of them were back in Formula 2 and giggling over every little thing like idiots.

The host smiled as she rolled her eyes. "I was just asking how you think you're going to do this race." She directed the question towards Kimi who just chuckled awkwardly in response. He felt a hand appear on the small of his back and instead of tensing up, he leaned into the touch.

It almost just felt normal between the two, and it really made Kimi want to get up and run as fast as he could off the stage. Instead, he nodded quickly and brought the mic up to his mouth.

"I hope I do great," he chuckled softly, trying to shake off the anxiety that lingered. He left it at that, watching the fans in the crowd cheer.

The host smiled at Kimi's response. Her attention pivoted to the Haas driver beside him. "And, what about you, Ollie?" As everyone's eyes fell onto Ollie, Kimi took it as an opportunity to shift his weight away from the boy.

Ollie pretended not to notice the way Kimi backed away from his touch. Clearing his throat, he adjusted his arm and brought the mic to his mouth. Kimi swears he was on autopilot for the rest of the Fan Forum.

"Aw, we're out of time!" The hosts lips pout towards the crowd, earning a disappointed roar from the fans. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and shoved it into Ollie's hands. "You guys have to take a quick selfie with this amazing crowd!" She smiled as she watched the two teams start to gather into each the screens camera. "Let's give another thank you to Haas and Mercedes!" The host took her phone back from Ollie as the fans cheered loudly.

As soon as the host dismissed the drivers, the youngest driver was practically bolting off the stage, not waiting for anyone. "Kimi wait up!" He heard from behind him. It was Ollie's voice, which made him scoff as he spun around to look at the taller. The Brit eventually caught up to Kimi and scratched at his neck awkwardly, like he didn't even know what to say to the latter. "Look…" He chuckled nervously as he trailed off.

Kimi raised an eyebrow. "I don't know why you're acting so," the younger paused, trying to find the words to continue. "Strange. You're acting strange." He scanned Ollie's face for a moment. Ollie didn't look like he had any reason to interrupt, so Kimi kept talking. "We aren't anything. But, it's weird as hell if we start just acting like nothing ever happened between us though." Kimi tried scoffing, but it came out more as a pathetic excuse of a laugh.

"Yeah, but, we also don't have to ignore each other!" Ollie's brows were pinched together in confusion. He thought Kimi was making no sense at all. So what if they had a disagreement when they broke up, they're going to have to interact one way or another. "We're drivers, we're going to have to interact, Kimi." Ollie scoffed, bringing his hand up to pinch at the bridge of his nose like he wasn't the one who started the conversation in the first place.

"Then, we are nothing more than rivals, Oliver." Kimi spun his head away so Ollie wouldn't see his emotions. He wanted to snort at how foreign the Brits name felt on his tongue.

Ollie stepped slightly closer and Kimi backed up, almost to some wall that he swears wasn't there two minutes ago. The taller boy trailed his hand over to Kimi's chin, tilting it up slightly. "But, you were acting completely normal up on that stage. What happened there, hm?" Kimi blinked, his mind going completely blank. He tried twisting his head away from Ollie's grip, but the latter's fingers only dug in tighter.

The Italian eventually gave up on fighting, letting his head tilt back further to feel the shadow of a kiss that never came. He felt the Brits fingers twitch against his skin as if he suddenly realized what he was doing.

Abruptly, Ollie pushed away like he was burnt. George seemingly coming out of nowhere. The older driver only narrowed his eyes at the interaction between the two. "Everything okay?" He called out, unsure on what to do other than try to pull Kimi out of the situation.

The Haas driver nodded, almost like he was on autopilot. "Yeah um," he shook himself out of his thoughts and cleared his throat. "Sorry, Kimi." He quickly apologized, avoiding the two Mercedes drivers gazes. It was awkward for a few more seconds as George grabbed Kimi's wrist and tried pulling him closer. "See you two tomorrow." The twenty-one year old eventually gave up on trying to make things even more awkward. Kimi held his breath as George looked over him like a concerned mother. He just wanted to go get dinner, then get the hell out of this Paddock.

25 June 2026

Spielberg, Austria.

"I'll get you guys an Uber back to your hotel, okay?" Max smiled sympathetically towards Kimi. The Red bull driver hooked his arm around the younger boys shoulder as they walked out of the Mercedes hospitality. George nodded along and Kimi could tell from the silence of both of them that they were sharing concerned looks. They decided to have dinner back at the hospitality, nobody giving a second glance to why a Red bull driver was in their vicinity.

It was oddly quiet for the trio as they walked around the Paddock. Since it was kind of late, there were not many people except the few mechanics still working on the cars before morning hit. They reached the parking lot and Max pulled his phone out of his back pocket. Kimi shoved his hand into his pocket, fiddling around with his room key as he looked into the clear night sky.

“Kimi, I’m really sorry.” George said with sympathy laced in his voice but Kimi didn’t want to hear it. "I should've told you they changed it last minute."

“I told you I’m not mad, George.” Kimi shook his head, then looked around eagerly for the Uber just to show up any moment. “It isn’t your fault.” Kimi shrugged after a minute. "And, nothing seriously bad happened."

George hummed, fully believing that Kimi was just trying to get the conversation over with. The Brit bumped Max’s shoulder slightly to share a look on what his opinion was. Max just tilted his head, then shrugged. As soon as George was about to open his mouth, a car pulled up.

The Dutch driver was quick to open the door for the two Mercedes teammates as soon as the car in front of them was in park. Kimi crawled in first, buckling in immediately and then taking his phone out of his pocket to take a quick peek at his notifications. He slightly heard George and Max whispering to each other, but Kimi didn’t really care to listen in.

“See you soon, schat.” Max winked to George as he shut the door. The Mercedes driver only scoffed in response as Max chuckled to himself. Kimi raised an eyebrow at the interaction, also watching the way his teammate's face was slightly red. He watched out the window as Max waved awkwardly as the Uber drove off. The teenager huffed to himself, slamming his back against the seat and ignoring the look he got from George.

The drive back to the hotel was awkward to say the least. Neither of them wanted to talk, but at the same time they both were waiting for the other to start the conversation. George kept trying to sneak glances over to Kimi. The teenager was suddenly so entranced on looking out the window.

As soon as the Uber came to a stop, Kimi already had his seatbelt off and his hand resting on the door handle. The Brit looked over, confused on why the teenager was so eager to get out of the car. "Are you okay?" George leaned in closer to Kimi and whispered.

Kimi nodded quickly. "Tired." The curly haired boy shoved the door open and toppled out of it. George was right behind him, thanking the driver in German before shutting the door.

The duo trailed into the lobby of the hotel and then immediately booking it towards the elevator. Once they landed on their floor, Kimi fiddled with his room key in his pocket. His teammate was busy looking at his phone behind him once they reached Kimi's room. George's room was a couple doors ahead, but he still lingered behind Kimi like he was waiting for the teenager to say something else.

After a few seconds of more silence, George cleared his throat from behind Kimi. “You completely sure you’re okay?” When the Italian turned around he watched as George's eyes carefully looked over Kimi like he was physically hurt. Realizing Kimi was staring at him, he shook himself out of his thoughts and smiled sympathetically. “I’m only a text away, Kimi.”

“I know, mother.” Kimi let the nickname slip out of his mouth sarcastically, but didn’t miss the way George's face didn’t change in the slightest. “I’m fine, don’t worry about me.” He waved his hand backwards at his teammate as he shuffled through his pockets for his hotel key.

The lock clicked open and Kimi wasted no time pushing the door open. Kimi gave one last smile before letting the door shut. George's gaze lingered on the door for a moment before he retreated to go to his own room. Inside, Kimi leaned against the door. He sighed to himself as he picked himself up and started walking towards his suitcase he didn’t bother unpacking. Honestly, he just wanted to disappear in his bed and never leave it. He could tell George was worried, but he couldn’t place on what. Sure, he has been moody all day for really no reason. The Fan Forum he was supposed to have with the McLaren teammates was with the Haas teammates instead, so yeah that hacked him off more than it should have, but it really wasn’t something George should worry about. He shrugged it off as George just being George.

He fished out his phone and darted it to the bed where it landed with a small thud. Then, he gazed back over to his suitcase. He pulled out some clothes and bundled them into his arms as he made his way into his bathroom.

Once he was under the hot water, he sighed. His muscles felt like they were finally untangling, seeming like they were clenched the whole day. The teenager sighed as he ran his hands through his wet hair. He tried to distract himself by trying to think about literally anything besides the Fan Forum.

All he wanted to do was probably just scroll through his phone, or even the TV channels and pass out. He finished up his shower quickly and shut off the water. A shiver ran down his spine as he padded out, wrapping a towel over his body and drying it off like there was a countdown on him.

As soon as he got into pajamas, he scooped up his dirty laundry. He held the pile of clothes tightly to his chest as he padded out of the bathroom, leaving the light on but shutting the door just slightly.

He trotted over to his suitcase and lazily threw them on top of the other clothes before plopping onto his bed. Then, he reached over for his phone to look at the notifications that piled up from since he last checked it.

Unknown:

so sorry wrong number, you’re going to have to hear me rant about them now ugh

20:47

and i’ll be here to listen! :DD

Kimi’s lips quirked up into a smile as he watched the other number immediately read the message like he was waiting in the chat. He wanted to laugh at how pathetic he felt that he was getting excited over a number he probably shouldn’t even talk to. It was embarrassing how it was making him smile more than anything at the moment. He kicked himself mentally when his mind wandered to how lonely he must be as he was patiently waiting for another message.

Usually, if it was any other Grand Prix since the beginning of this season, Kimi would have been sitting alone in his hotel room. He would also probably be sulking right now as he flipped through channels on the hotel’s TV. Before thinking about it for longer, he clicked on the number and put it into his contacts.

He laughed to himself in the room, which made him feel stupid, but it made him feel like he had some sort of purpose outside of racing again.

paddington 🧸:

The boy swears he felt his heart drop at the sudden mention of his literal work. Kimi held his breath as he quickly typed. He took a moment to let his eyes glaze over his hotel room, he knew nobody was there, but he wanted to make sure. As soon as Paddington read the message, he got a text from a group chat containing George, Max, and obviously Kimi himself. He sighed in relief as he mechanically clicked on it.

Kimi’s divorced parents

20:54

papa max 🫠:

Kimiii

mama george 😥:

Kimi.

yes..?

mama george 😥:

We were wondering…

uh oh that’s never good

mama george 😥:

Which one of us do you prefer more? Max might be offended because I know you’ll pick me.

papa max 🫠:

That sounds like jealousy, schat

mama george 😥:

Oh fuck off, dickhead.

papa max 🫠:

I thought we were trying to be civil

mama george 😥:

I’m not going to be civil when you’re calling me pet names.

Kimi, where’d you go?

i’m watching you two bicker

it’s lovely

also i think i’d rather choose lewis tbh

papa max 🫠:

He’s staring at his phone trying to process that you didn’t say him.

This is actually hilarious

wait

you two are together rn?

wtf

no wait i have a better question why are you two texting when you both are in the same room

better yet probably the same bed???

You changed the conversation name to “Kimi’s married parents??”

mama george 😥:

papa max 🫠:

Ohhh you’re in trouble!

mama george 😥:

mama george 😥:

Then watch a movie.

mama george 😥:

We are not together right now.

papa max 🫠:

Yes we areee

Literally in the same bed

Do not lie to our son like this 🧐

mama george 😥:

Also, we needed to ask you who you like more, but then you said Lewis.

i mean it was kind of a joke because i actually can't pick between you two..

but now i do think i prefer lewis

mama george 😥:

But, you have to pick one. Me or Max.

okay! maybe it is time for bed

you two are so so weird. 🥹

goodnight!!!

papa max 🫠:

Goodnight Kimi

If you don’t see me tomorrow

George has killed me. 🙂

He's lashing out with unnecessary anger and borderline violence right now.

mama george 😥:

Stop being so dramatic. And do not listen to him, Kimi. Goodnight.

mama george 😥 changed the conversation name to “Kimi’s divorced parents.”

well it was fun while it lasted 💔

Kimi rolled his eyes. He didn’t want to think about George and Max probably sleeping in the same bed right now so he went back to Paddington’s contact.

paddington 🧸:

ahhh what's your favorite team?

i reallllyy love ferrari 👀

this is going get awkward if i say mercedes right?

Kimi snorted softly at how quickly his new friend's demeanor changed. He was determined to get on this guy's nerves. The Italian paused for a moment, tapping at his chin as he was thinking of what to say. He smiled mischievously as he typed out another reply. He couldn’t stop himself from giggling like a maniac into the silent hotel room.

you’re going after my own blood mate! ☹️

can’t believe you…

paddington 🧸:

NO WAIT IM SORRY

The boy sucked in a breath and looked over the dark room once more. He debated on searching further, or even asking George if they could have a sleepover, or some bullshit. He held the breath tightly in his lungs until it burned, and then let it out. This guy couldn't possibly have been watching him, everything that Paddington said has to have been a coincidence.

He waited another moment before replying back. He reached over to grab the TV remote and blankly turned it on before landing on some random channel. He adjusted the blanket over his waist and sighed. He ignored the way his hands lightly shook as he typed back to Paddington.

He let himself just smile like an idiot as he exited his messages. Then, he plugged his phone in and placed it softly on the nightstand next to him. The teenager giggled softly once more, it felt like he was floating on a cloud. He sighed contently, rolling onto his back and staring at the ceiling.

Tomorrow was going to be way better, he felt it.
