I found a kid on the street.
Burner1129295
It's just what it sounds like. I, 33M was getting my partner, 37M, some soup when I saw this 12-13 year old crying in the snow. He said he was kicked out for being trans and he's staying at our place tonight. I couldn't just let him freeze. What do I do now?

I'm glad you took him in and warmed him up, the weather is shit out there. Coming from a child abuse victim, CPS is not your friend but they will help you get the papers to foster him if you want. Or you could give him to them, which I think is a bad choice.

Thanks for the advice, my partner and I have been talking about adopting for bit and this kid is really sweet, just quiet. He's warming up to us though and I'm excited to learn more about him.

I want to foster a kid, how do I do it?
Burner1129295
The other day I found a freezing kid on the street. He's been staying with me and my partner for a few days now and we've talked, he would like to be fostered by us for the time being. I just have no idea how this system works and need advice.

Good food for an underfed thirteen year old?
Burner1129295
My foster son was underfed in his old home, what are some good and healthy foods for him to eat to help him gain weight? He doesn't weigh enough to do musical theater which is something he really loves and had to miss out on a really fun musical his school was doing because of his health.

How to support my foster kid who's having nightmares about his mom?
Burner1129295
He's woken up crying or screaming about three times this week, how can I support him and help these nightmares stop, if that's possible?

My kid cuts himself, how can I show him I'm there for him?
Burner1129295
My partner and I are his foster parents. His last situation was not good. Long story short he was kicked out and I found him crying in the snow.
He's been cutting himself lately (I notice the scars on his arms, and they're extremely fresh), and as someone who struggles with mental health myself, I want to show that I'm there for him without scaring him away.

I used to do self harm, and you can just sit down with him and tell him upfront that you're not angry, just worried. Something my mom did for me was take away all the sharp objects I could have. If he feels safe with you, he'll be comfortable enough to tell you if he relapsed.

Thanks for the advice, I hid all the sharp things and he's doing better, he's been clean for two days now.

My partner and I are thinking about adopting our foster son
Burner1129295
It's a complicated situation. He was physically and emotionally abused in the home of his biological mom. We've been fostering him for almost a year now, and I've grown very fond of him. I can't see him with any other parents, he's our son and we really love him. It would be a bit complicated, since my partner and I are both in the public spotlight. Not going to give too many details but I don't want him to be under any pressure. With the way the internet works, people will find out sooner or later.
Like I said, it's tough. But he's doing so much better mentally than he was months ago, and he gets along really well with our extended family, and It's like this kid was the missing puzzle piece to our lives. I don't want him to go away, he makes our lives so much better. Any advice?

Talk to him and see how he feels. Judging by your posts in the past, he's a teenager and can choose for himself. Being in the public spotlight makes it extremely complicated, however, if the kid is comfortable with it, I think you could share him with the world. The fact that you thought about the public pressure really means you are taking everything in consideration, which is really responsible.

Thank you, I had a talk with him and another talk with the social worker. We might begin the adoption process soon.

The pizza mukbang 4 actually made me a little emotional, their little family is so sweet

Ik we mostly joke around in the phandom, but I wanted to get a little sentimental for a moment and just say I'm really proud of dan and phil and how far they've come. I started watching them back when they both had the emo hair and now they're literally parents. It's a little surreal (and makes me feel old) but I'm really happy for them. Liam is so adorable too, and he seems like a really fun person to be around. I'm excited to jump into this new era!
P.S. RIP to all the phannies who still hadn't recovered from the hard launch, I think this was their final blow.
