    For as long as light could remember, Ryuk and Rem had always watched over him.
    Since the beginning of his existence. His father, the Shinigami king, never really watched over light. He would check on him from here and then, but that was about it.

    Light decided he wanted to explore the human world, so he went down there, and like always, Ryuk and Rem were with him throughout it all.

    It was pretty boring until Kira came.
