Hello, everyone! Before I send you off into this, there are some things I feel I should establish. Please read through these just for clarity reasons!
This story takes place around 10 months after Jax abstracted.
Everyone has learned to conjure things up for themselves, but they still tend to rely on Caine for things they deem too big or too complicated to make on their own, also if they just don’t feel like making it for themselves.
The censors are gone, they can swear and partake in sexual activities (though that won’t be relevant in this fanfic as there will be no smut).
They can change their outfits and all of them have personalized wardrobes to match their style.
There is also a regular night and day cycle now.
He/him pronouns are used for Jax — trans Jax is being kept in mind and hinted at but isn’t addressed head on as it’s too early in their journey to focus on (like she’s trans but she’s suffering the debilitating consequences of unabstracting so she doesn’t really care about that rn)
CONTENT WARNINGS:
This fanfic will also be touching on themes of disability and chronic pain, and by touching on I mean that’ll be the main topic of discussion in some way or another throughout this whole story.
There will also be discussions of abstraction, some suicidal ideation, and descriptions of bodily glitching which won't be very graphic but prevalent.
DISCLAIMER FOR RABBIT OWNERS, CURRENT AND EX-OWNERS ALIKE:
Jax’s presentation post-abstraction was heavily inspired by rabbits experiencing E. Cuniculi flare-up symptoms. If you have or have had a rabbit that dealt/is dealing with this, I am so sorry. If this topic upsets you, maybe sit this story out. All my love to you.
Schedule-wise, I will be posting a new chapter every week on Monday and Friday. At the time of posting this, I have most chapters already written so hopefully, there won’t be any delays or complications.
The chapter names will be lyrics from the song Scars by The Crane Wives. This choice was made because I love the song and the text helped give me a timeline of what each chapter would entail. That’s all I’ll say.
