favorite color? or maybe fav word?
Artist Note: Time for a flashback! This is the first time Simon was well enough for Grace to feel comfortable leaving for a couple of days. No one's sure if orange his is favorite color but it certainly is the color the dormitory has been set to for the last few weeks. Medical summaries by Mary indicate that Simon has light sensitivity in the damaged eye, so maybe the dimmer orange light is better for that?

I have some thoughts on the missing words too, but nothing concrete. Zapa must be some kind of food source, but clearly can’t be meat if he’s not eating meburgers. Yra feels like if/yet/but, some kind of interjection, but I don’t know what. And [xiob] probably refers to a source of food or water — maybe a place, like ship?
and servego feels like it has something to do with class? But it’s hard to say for sure without knowing what yra means

We know 'ett' directly means eat, so the word 'obetta' could be ob- ett(-a)? ob could be a grammatical particle/prefix that means permission/opportunity/ability so: ob + etta → get to eat/allowed to eat, or 'fed'. The word feels like it's meant to be demeaning when it's put next to the phrase: "Can't really say no", he's not eating (active decision), he's getting fed (a decision forced on him). But it could just mean meals... or food...

I think sersa is a more intense version of ‘to say’ maybe like ‘He swears the food is plentiful, near infinite.’

"Ai sik to raxion erregos, but he vas alvo vhajen me," We already got confirmation that the second half is "but he was always(?) watching me," and that 'raxion' is 'ration', and I'm not sure if the word exclusively means 'to ration' or 'ration' as in consumables, or if they share like the English word. I definitely think it means the former here though, since it justifies the existence of the second half:
Simon didn't want to eat all of the food he's given to stretch it out further even if the food supply/quantity(zapa(?)) is supposedly near infinite(infino) (skeptical Simon noises), but he can't hide the food away if Grace is always watching or hovering. Which means that 'sik' (a word that could be based off English: seek, eh???) likely means something along the lines of 'try' or 'attempt'?

Veritsa is truthful/honest and Veritsano is lying/dishonest!! “If you think that is [servego] of me, honestly” and “If he is lying and we do drain this ship…” Also xiob sounds like xit so I think it’s a more explicit way to say ship. Dranada could also mean deplete.

Yra is definitely if, Like: "If you think [this] is selfish of me, {then you'd be correct.}" But I can't find a good word for it and it's killing me... Okay I understand now. The ‘Veritsa’ is actually an imperative mood, not an adverb. ie ‘be honest’ instead of ‘honestly’

Grace's Notes: "Simon doesn't seem that bothered about only eating nutrient shake all the time, but food variety is important and I wanted to make sure he had every option available to him. I brought a me-burger with me on this visit as an example.
He generally ignores me unless I ask a direct question, but it definitely got his attention when I unwrapped the raw patty. He kept staring at it like it was going to disappear if he wasn't watching it. Or maybe he thought it would jump up and bite him. He can be hard to read sometimes.
Then I had to actually explain how the Eridians make the me-burgers.
It was oddly embarrassing. I had to draw a lot of pictures on the whiteboard. I'm still not sure exactly how much English he understands, but science terminology especially seems to make his eyes glaze over.
When he finally understood, he went pale, muttered a few curse words, and then refused to talk to me for the rest of my visit. He just pretended I didn't exist until I left. That is a pretty unequivocal result. No me-burgers for Simon.

Well at least Grace had the courtesy of telling Simon what the “burgers” were made of before Simon ate one. At least I would think Ryland would have told him beforehand.😅
