Summary
Buck falls asleep on the living room couch, and Eddie decides to be nice and let him sleep, not wanting to disturb his peaceful slumber. He covers him with a blanket before heading to the bedroom and going to sleep himself, which would normally be perfectly fine.
However, at approximately 5am, Eddie is violently ripped from his peaceful slumber by the sight of a mysterious, blanket-wrapped figure standing at the foot of the bed asking, “Why did you leave me?”
Eddie nearly dies on the spot. It takes him several seconds, and turning on the light, to realize the terrifying apparition is, in fact, just Buck who is apparently very upset that Eddie abandoned him on the couch.

Summary

Summary
Post-lawsuit
Buck's back on shift but still on the outs with the team. The flu sweeps its way through the firehouse, Bobby, Hen, Chim and Eddie had all gotten it. Buck’s honestly surprised he’s lasted this long, especially considering he’s been on clean up duty the entire time, every tissue the team had coughed or blown their nose into, every surface they’d sneezed on, had been meticulously discarded, cleaned and sanitized by Buck.
Buck wakes up and realizes that there’s no way he’s making it in today. He’d felt off, maybe even bad the last 2 days, but today he felt like absolute shit on a cracker. Buck calls Bobby and tries to tell him that he’s too sick to come in but Bobby won’t hear of it. Bobby tells Buck to get his shit together and tells him that he can either come in to shift today or be written up for going AWOL and be fired.--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alright, so Buck is definitely in love with his best friend. But with a four-year-old running circles around him, remnants of pancake stuffed in his mouth and maple syrup slathered impossibly across his entire face, Buck really doesn't have time to think about that right now.
So he does what every responsible adult with any sort of structure in their life would - he schedules his mental breakdown for a later date. Pulling out his phone, he navigates deftly to his calendar, and eyes a free day a little over a month from now. October 15th, as good a date as any, he supposes. He blocks out a 3 hour time slot with an event titled 'Process the fact that I'm in love with Eddie', and swipes the app away without a second thought.

He falls asleep with his body sprawled over the broad expanse of Buck’s chest and wakes up with his face buried into the skin of his neck. They watch a movie together on Eddie’s couch and Eddie practically sits in his lap, head tucked under Buck’s chin as he blinks at the screen. When they’re alone, Eddie can’t stop himself from peppering kisses to Buck’s lips and his cheeks and his forehead as Buck giggles and pretends to try and duck. Under the dinner table every night, Eddie will hook his foot around Buck’s ankle and make Buck duck his head into a flushed smile. And Eddie is always, always holding Buck’s hand—running errands and in their own bed and at the grocery store and across the console while Buck’s driving them to work.
Maybe he’s just in the honeymoon stage. Or maybe this is how he’ll always feel—like every second he’s not touching Buck is a second wasted.
