Summary
A canon-compliant rework and extension of MW2: Reboot.
Simon was an unstoppable force, but Fate was an immovable object.
Stationary.
When you ignore it, and put up walls to secure yourself, it only delays the inevitable. Unavailing. It doesn’t stop it. Moments in time slowly drill their way through, picking an open scab until it turns to scar tissue. It will break your skin until it drains you. You will deteriorate into ashes, scattered by the wind.
And if you force yourself against Fate, shielded with a lifetime of trauma that you use to protect yourself– you’re forced to recognize why you put the walls up in the first place. Every moment full of agony, abuse, anguish.
Your walls will crumble, because Fate never fails.
And as Fate tore the first wall apart, Simon was pushed.

Summary
Waking up that morning had been a pain in the ass, and not the fun pain in the ass.When Soap woke up, he felt wrong.This tenderness, this soreness; it was all wrong. The heat in his body was wrong. The chill on his skin was wrong. He knew the morning would be a pain, but once he got moving it would be ok, right?
Two idiots are in love and both think that the other doesn’t love them. It takes Soap pretending he isn’t sick for them to finally get their act together.

“Live for me Simon.. If not me, then for the task force.”
“No, if you’re gone then why should I?”
“Because–” Soap looks away, lip quivering for a moment before he bit down on it. “–you mean so much to me…”
“What?”
“If you die it’s like I’m dying. My heart will shatter into pieces and I’ll never be able to recover. Simon.” Soap hiccupped as he felt the taste of iron fill his mouth, yet he couldn’t help but utter the very words he’ll regret.
“And I know how hard it can be for you because of Roach. You fucking loved him and not me.”
Simon “Ghost” Riley and John “Soap” MacTavish are opposites in many ways.
Ghost being cold, calculating and most importantly, intimidating. Whereas Soap being bright and flamboyant, charismatic to every soldier that he met. But that stark difference is what made each other so enthralling to each other. However, with their emotions emerging from within the depths of hell, God knows that they will never admit it.

One-Shot
Set a while after the events of Las Almas. The face reveal never happened, and Soap is struggling with his undeniable attraction and feelings he has towards his Lieutenant— as well as the jealousy and hurt he feels having never seen his face.
Ghost is slightly less emotionally constipated than one would expect, but is blind to the affects his trepidation at uncovering his anonymity has on Johnny.
They both find comfort in one another, as well as the relief of finally exposing themselves to their emotions and the benefits of honesty… and learning how to truly trust one another.

Summary
Ghost honestly hates Christmas but he cannot find it in himself to say no to Soap's puppy eyes, when he asks him to come to Scotland for the occasion and visit his family. Little does he know that Soap's parents seem to somehow know everything about him and are apparently convinced that him and Soap are dating. Which they totally are not, alright? They are clearly just very good friends.
Cue a heart-to-heart or two.~~~
"Hello." Soap's mom said cheerfully. "We've heard much of ya from John."
"Aye, laddie, welcome to our house." Soap's dad reached out to shake his hand as soon as she let go of him.Ghost was so glad his body handled social interactions on autopilot for him because what did they just say? Soap had been telling his parents about him?
He politely greeted them both and thanked for the invitation but found his eyes darting above their heads to find Soap with his back turned to him, all too casually taking off his coat, an unusual stiffness to his movements.

He leans against the wall beside the door and sighs, “Needed to ask you a question though, Sir.”
“Ask away, Johnny.” Ghost softens, staring intently at Soap.
“Have you slept? Or been sleepin’?”
“That’s two questions, Johnny.” He says before sighing, “But no. I take it that’s a no from you too?”
Soap nods, “Feel like I can’t remember how to, Ghost. Alls I think about is Hassan and Graves and Shepherd and it’s all too fuckin’ much for me, Lt.”
Ghost stares at Soap momentarily, paused by his outburst, before he gestures to the door and swipes his keycard into the lock, “Don’t suppose you want to come in for a while? Maybe crash? There’s a second bed.”
Soap already knows that. His room is identical. He never expected Ghost to offer an insight into Ghosts private space like this however. He nods, nonetheless, “Appreciate it, Lt.”
