Slade eyes him up, shaking his head and flinging cold water everywhere. A piece of loose waterweed flys off and smacks against Bruce's cheek. It stings.
You would really let me eat you in exchange for a favor? You will be alive when I do it, you know. I will draw it out. I will make you suffer. Your last moments will be in glorious agony.
“I know,” Bruce replies, “No different than my first moments, or every moment since.”Bruce doesn't know what else to do. Where else to go. Who else to turn to. And so he's here, praying to a monster for saving.
