Summary
Duke wanted it stated on record that he'd not done this to "cause a scene" and he definitely did not need babysitting. He was eleven years old and he was fine, thank you very much. The main reason it ended up this way was because he really needed to get back to searching for his parents without a certain costumed busybody taking up the entire night with his issues. Duke had identified the problem, found the solution, and took the steps to reach it. Done and dusted.
Now if people could stop freaking out about it, that'd be great.

But his family's also still a blood, non-found one and sometimes the not-quite-loss of it weigh onto him more heavily than usual.

Summary
Elaine is mid-call with Jay, getting updated on the last few months of her son’s life, when she sees footage of Condiment King rampaging through Gotham on the television.
That’s nothing new. Elaine can see enough of the city in the background to tell that the Rogue is nowhere near the hospital. Really, this is just a typical day in Gotham, nothing that would normally distract her from listening to Jay’s concerns about his cousin. But there’s a vigilante with a bat across his chest fighting Condiment King. And it’s not Batman.
“I’ll call you back,” Elaine says, gaze fixed on the screen.
Or: Elaine has always known that her son would be a hero.
