Summary
Seonghwa’s eyes are all ocean — the darkest angriest parts of it, the sea under a black sky splintered by lightning, the muck-dark churning of the deep. He blinks placidly at Hongjoong. Says, soft and almost light-hearted, “Who told you my name?”
Hongjoong’s head is cotton wool studded with broken glass; the light glints off him with a violent ache. He squints. The room is small; Seonghwa, standing in the middle of it, seems to suck all the light and all the dark to himself, leaving the corners half-lit and forgotten. Hongjoong’s skull, too, feels too small. There’s a rustling in it. A rifling. The headache is clarifying; he grits his teeth, closes his eyes and feels immediately steadied without the churning sway of Seonghwa’s sea-black eyes. “Get out of my head, witch,” he bites out, tooth-tense.
Hongjoong wants to make a bargain. Seonghwa doesn't care.
