____________________Kaveh finally moves out from Alhaitham's place, he only needs to come back one more time to grab the last of his stuff. He didn't expect to see Alhaitham there in the middle of a panic attack, curled up in the corner of the living room.

“Whyever in the world would you be retiring? You’re barely thirty.”
“Extenuating circumstances,” Alhaitham says. “I wanted an opportunity to get my affairs in order.”
“Your affairs? What, are you—”
“I’m sick, Kaveh. Haven’t you noticed?”
“The coughing. Sure.” Kaveh swallows, then keeps talking like he didn’t just exhibit such an obvious nervous tell. “So, you’re sick. Is that any reason to upend your life? I understand needing to take the time to get better, but—”
“I am not going to get better. I am going to get worse, and then I am going to die,” Alhaitham says plainly.

Alhaitham only blinks back at him as if slightly taken aback by his appearance.
“You’re not wearing any makeup,” He says, and Kaveh narrows his eyes suspiciously.
"I’m aware,”
“You’re beautiful,” Alhaitham states flat out, not a hint of derision behind his words.
Makeup is Kaveh's armour, his comfort, his security - Alhaitham has never seen him without it, until he does, and it is nowhere near the reaction that Kaveh expects from him.
