Hermione watched as students stood and shouted that they couldn’t do this to them, screaming their confusion at such a drastic measure. Hermione couldn’t really form any thoughts at that moment. Her ears were ringing, her head empty. She simply stared blankly. A mandatory marriage law, presumably to encourage population growth after so many witches and wizards were killed. The Wizarding World was dying out, and the Ministry was desperate. Next to her, she could vaguely register Ginny and Ron shouting, typical Weasley anger coming to the fore. She glanced at Harry, who was quiet as she was. She simply reached for his hand, and he took it, squeezing gently. She could be angry later. For now, she didn’t know what to think.
