Wei Wuxian is a programmer who sells androids used for sexual pleasure. When an old crush, Lan Wangji, walks into his shop, Wei Wuxian decides to make the delivery personally - only to be mistaken for the sexbot he was supposed to deliver.
2 - Default Setting :
"A few weeks ago, when I asked you what kind of person you’d find attractive if we had a third person join us in bed, you said you didn’t want anyone else but me."
“So you had Huaisang make you a sexbot that looks exactly like you?” Lan Zhan asks, and even though Wei Ying has gotten very good at reading Lan Zhan’s expressions, he doesn’t really understand why Lan Zhan looks so exasperated.
“Well, not exactly. He doesn’t have my mole, see?”

Wei Ying brings home a dom sexbot and asks Lan Zhan to help him test it out. It doesn't take long for him to realise that he may be in way over his head.

Summary
Each work stands alone, but they exist in the same au.
Modern au, wlw Wangxian, US (Midwest) setting.
Lan Zhan grew up in American religious fundamentalism, every moment of her life rigidly governed by strict rules. Wei Ying grew up a foster child in the dysfunctional Jiang household. When things go terribly wrong just after their high school graduation, Wei Ying disappears and Lan Zhan is left alone and heartbroken for the next ten years.
Eventually, they each find their own paths back to healing - and each other.

1 - The Right Qing-Jie (a prequel) :
"For the love of god, will you please just tell me what the fuck I'm about to walk into?" The voice over the phone is not playing around. She sounds murderous. He briefly wonders about the wisdom of giving this stranger his home address, then glances back over at the bed, at the shivering mass under the blanket, now heaving uneven, shaky breaths like it's trying to figure out how lungs work.
"Nothing. It's just me and Wei Ying here. Except...uh...I'm not sure she's breathing?"
"What-the-fuck." It comes out as one word, half screamed.
2 - 7:15 from Chicago :
“Wei Ying, it wouldn't be any trouble for you to drop Wangji off at the airport, would it?" asked Yanli, smiling so sweetly no one but Wei Ying would hear the betrayal in her words. Wei Ying stared at her sister in disbelief. She had worked so hard to avoid talking to Lan Zhan the whole weekend and could hardly imagine spending two hours stuck together in the car. Not now. Not after ten years of silence. Not after…everything.
But Lan Xichen was looking at her, waiting, pleasant smile tinged with question. Beside him, Lan Zhan stared silently at the floor.
Wei Ying had no good reason to say no, and she couldn't possibly deny Yanli anything on a regular day, let alone the weekend of her wedding. Finally, she cleared her throat and nodded.
"Great! It's all settled then.” Yanli smiled wider, and Wei Ying thought maybe it was worth it. Two hours of awkward carpooling and a probable heart attack were worth seeing her sister smile like that. Right?
And Lan Zhan's ears were pink again. Wei Ying felt terrible Lan Zhan was stuck in this situation. But her pink ears were awfully cute.

Which is why Wei Wuxian is severely annoyed that one the first day moving in, there's a translucent man staring out his bedroom window.
"Are you kidding me?!" Wei Wuxian huffs, voice bouncing down the landing as he drops his bags with a thud at the top of the stairs.
The man turns from where he's been staring through the dusty pane and looks directly at Wei Wuxian. Their gazes meet and the man's eyes widen like saucers.
In a deep, disbelieving voice, he murmurs, "You can see me?"
"Nope!" Wei Wuxian announces and turns around to march right back down the stairs.
It’s stupid, really. The man is already waiting at the bottom of the staircase when Wei Wuxian gets there.
