“Could’ve sworn we left it here,” Miya hums, chewing on his lip right beside him and making a show of looking up and down the road as if the mere act of putting a hand to his forehead and squinting beneath the shade of it could conjure up their ride.
In any other lifetime, Sakusa might’ve enjoyed this. The quiet nature of being so gently left behind, the sleepy but thriving town. But in this lifetime he’s exhausted, worn down to the bone after matches and extra practice, sore after Miya pushed him to his limit, and all he wants is to be on that bus and on his way home.
“Did ya steal it, Omi-kun?” There’s a playfulness to his tone, cicadas buzzing in between each syllable, growing louder as Miya’s shoulder nudges against his own. He could snap back, be just as cold as he is on the court, but as the grass continues to blow in the wind and Hinata starts to giggle beside him, he lets the lazy air of a summer afternoon melt down his edges.

Sitting on top of a satin cushion is a collar. It’s not a difference to have received a collar from one of his fans—he’s gotten probably fifteen of them by now—the difference is the fact that this collar is no doubt custom and absolutely expensive.
The leather of the collar is incredibly smooth and soft, black and obviously oiled recently. The hardware is gold and really it just matches everything he’s already gotten from Shu.
The difference lies in the lining. On the inside of the collar is a deep green satin lining. It’s beautiful—the color is rich and the fabric is ridiculously soft.
This collar is perfect. It’s everything to Atsumu.
He’s reaching for his phone before he can even think twice about it.

In Foster’s office, Meian leans against the desk, sharp eyes creased into something knowing and expectant as he relays the information to Kiyoomi, who’s standing barely two feet away from the open, almost inviting space between Meian’s legs.
Like he knows where Kiyoomi’s mind has just gone, the corner of Meian’s lips tick upwards, and he straightens up, eradicating the miniscule distance between them even more.
“I don’t think you’ve forgotten what ya practically asked fer, that first time,” Meian says in a low voice, as Kiyoomi tries not to squirm on the spot. “But just in case.”
He leans down, and Kiyoomi’s eyes flutter shut without permission. The air in Foster’s office seems to have been sucked out, residing between the short breaths Kiyoomi tries to take through a throat squeezed tight from anticipation.
“What d’ya say? Still wanna be the team’s bitch, Sakusa-kun?”
