On all accounts, Remus was perfect. There was just one problem, Sirius was pretty sure he had a girlfriend.
He wasn’t completely sure, but he had a very strong feeling that the redhead that was practically glued to his side had more than a platonic thing going on. And he hated it. Because he liked a guy who was in a relationship. Taken. Committed.
Sirius was not a homewrecker. He was not.
It just so happened, by complete coincidence, that he would run into Remus every morning at Minnie’s at precisely seven-fifteen. They would make small talk and smile and then Remus would get his order and walk right back to his car where he would drive to campus for class.

And Aziraphale knows that he himself is just chattering on, letting conversational tangents carry him along, and—it’s definitely relief, for him, knowing for the first time in a long time that they aren’t being watched, that no one is keeping score for now.

“Christmas Crackers?” Malfoy asks, holding one up, then looks at her with a surprisingly warm expression. “Cute.”
Hermione fights a blush. They’re no ordinary Christmas Crackers. She had George and the staff at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes whip up a special surprise for the Ministry—except she explicitly requested they be red and green, not gold and silver.
It’s not that big of a deal. She’ll get over it. Tomorrow.
Malfoy busies himself by helping to distribute several tubes on each table without request. It’s easy, working with him in a silent tandem. They’ve done it a few times on shared projects, holing up in her office or his, and quickly fall into an easy rhythm. Every time she sneaks a glance, he’s conveniently looking elsewhere.
At the final table, he shakes one close to his ear. “So what’s inside? They’re light.”
She hurries over to him. There’s few enough people around that the surprise won't be ruined if she gives him a peek, and the prototypes were perfect.
“We’ll have to be quick.”
A sly smile pulls at his lips, and he holds one end towards her. “On three?”

Summary
Sam and Bucky’s house smells intensely of pine balsam, sweet and fragrant, and Steve tracks the scent through to the living room where a tree stands almost to the ceiling. It’s strung with garlands of popcorn and silver paper stars, and Steve has a flash of memory to sitting at a kitchen table with Bucky and Becka, the smell of popcorn and oranges warm in the air. He’s almost immediately distracted, though, by how Sam is lying on the couch, relaxed and easy, with the biggest wolf Steve has ever seen stretched out full-length on top of him.
“Hey, man,” Sam says with a smile. “Good to see you.”
“Nice tree,” Steve says faintly, because Sam are you aware you got a goddamn wolf on top of you seems rude to open with, maybe. Sam laughs.
