Mira’s chest heaves with exertion as she comes down from her high, teeth still buried in Rumi’s neck. Her heart kicks like a heavy bass line at her throat, slowing now, easing back into a normal cadence. Beneath her, Rumi is slick and hot and breathless, pressing sweet kisses into Mira’s shoulder where she’d just dug her teeth in, her neck, her hair, her ear lazily, one hand settled against her spine, thumbing at a little nick of a scar. Rumi’s patterns settle from the blaze of gold that lit up the room when they’d bitten each other back into soft white-blue iridescence. If Mira looks closer, she can see little hints of pink slither through the lines every so often.
“Holy shit,” Rumi murmurs, voice ruined, against the cut of Mira’s jaw, the ridge of her cheekbone.
