Summary

Summary
Luffy was a second away from dying and something in Ace snapped.
Luffy almost died, Luffy had a hole in his chest, the same Luffy he raised, the same Luffy he loved, his little brother almost died, and something in Ace snapped.
Luckily for Ace, and for the whole world, Monkey D. Luffy didn't die that day in Marineford. And Ace would make sure he never got hurt again, even if it meant never letting him out of his big brother's sight.

Accidentally eating a devil fruit changed his whole life. It's almost been a year since he started sailing and he's been making smooth progress. His own crew, reliable friends, and a fun adventure. All he needs to do is get a little bit used to his devil fruit and then assassinate the "World's Strongest Man". No biggie.

Ace, who was being remanded to protective custody in Marineford--Trafalgar Law decides to do something crazy. In one world, this put him in just the right position to serve as a timely escape. In this one, it got him an angry, grieving gremlin. Law is tired, Ace has come up swinging, and the Hearts are just delighted.
“I’ve got better things to do than lie to a cabin boy. And you’re not going to take me in a fight, so you might as well take a minute and calm down and listen to me.”

Summary

Red faced like a real drunkard, thrashed on his misery- it was a side of the pirate Sabo wasn't familiar with, but then again, there were many things about Portgas that he didn't know.
Sabo met Ace. His memories didn't come back, and Sabo insisted that he doesn't need his memories back, but they agreed to keep in touch. Opportunities to meet dwindled almost to nothing as the months go on, but life worked in mysterious ways and as it came to it, Sabo's latest mission brought him to Ace anyways.
