The fourth Shinobi war has ended and just when everyone thought they won, they were kicked in the teeth. Zetsu came back and is picking the survivors off one by one. A last ditch effort to save everyone is to send Sasuke and Naruto back into the past to stop it all from happening. Their arrival doesn’t go quite as planned and Sasuke is left alone. Now it’s up to him to complete the mission and make sure everyone survives, included himself.

Summary
Canon divergence. Set in the Valley of the End. Sasuke realises the final parting gift given by his father before his death. A gift that would allow him to secure his own future on his own terms. It was a way for all the dreams, stories and lessons of the Uchiha clan to continue instead of being lost. This is a look on how people can discover their own stories, even if history has long been written by the victors.
Alternatively, when Itachi once again attacks Sasuke with the Tsukiyomi, he unknowingly awakens memories Fugaku passed on to Sasuke on his death. The great Shinobi nations will never be the same, for history will no longer be on the purview of the winners.

Uchiha Sasuke wears them threaded into his hair, splotches of yellow among black. Uzumaki Karin has them around her hands like bracelets. Hoozuki Suigetsu wraps them around the hilt of his sword. Sakaguchi Juugo keeps them woven into the neck of his cloak, distinctive flashes of gold.
To Taka, it's just flowers. It's just something cute they decided to do one day and stuck with out of habit. To everyone else it's a sign of resilience, of the hope they bring like rays of sunlight.
