Simon was an unstoppable force, but Fate was an immovable object.
Stationary.
When you ignore it, and put up walls to secure yourself, it only delays the inevitable. Unavailing. It doesn’t stop it. Moments in time slowly drill their way through, picking an open scab until it turns to scar tissue. It will break your skin until it drains you. You will deteriorate into ashes, scattered by the wind.
And if you force yourself against Fate, shielded with a lifetime of trauma that you use to protect yourself– you’re forced to recognize why you put the walls up in the first place. Every moment full of agony, abuse, anguish.
Your walls will crumble, because Fate never fails.

“I know. I’m not here because of him.” Gaz and John leaned forward ever so slightly at that information, as if it was unheard of that Roach didn’t come here to visit König. “I brought a friend.”
And just like that, all eyes were on Simon.

Summary
Johnny, his parents and many many siblings moved down to Manchester for his dads new job. He wasn’t expecting to make many new friends in a secondary school half way through year eight where friend groups and cliques had already been formed. But alas. Maybe he will find a friend. Maybe someone who will become more of a friend eventually.
And Simon. Simon never expected anything from anyone, except maybe constant bullying and belittlement from his teachers, and abuse from his brother and father, but then the clouds broke slightly and some sunshine was let in his life. Who would have thought Johnny was that sunshine.

There was a loud knocking on the door. All three children were crying for their own reasons and Soap felt as if he’d lose his mind at any moment. It was so overwhelming. Somehow, war felt easier than this. “Leah, give your brother back his toy,” He commands softly, picking up Sophie from her rocker.
Leah yells out, “But I want it!”
“Yes,” Soap says, making his way to the door, “I understand but you snatched it from his hands. You have plenty of other toys you can play with.”
“No! I want this one.”
Alec sobs louder and Soaps head feels like it’s about to explode. Sophie needs to get fed, he’s aware. But right now so much is going on. How the hell did his sister do this?
“Leah-“ He’s cut off as he trips over a Lego set. He starts hopping on one foot, just inches from the door and has to bite his lips to stop himself from cursing. Sophie screams at the top of her lungs.
“I know,” He coos, “I’m sorry. I’ll get you fed in a moment.”
He adjusts her and throws open the door. On the other side is the last person he’d ever expect to see.

Soaps sister dies and leaves him her children. Ghost can’t return to work. he shows up on his doorstep, looking for a place to stay.
