Summary
Mirror of "Watching the Sunset with him". Allura's POV. The two can be read alone or together, and in the order you prefer.
What should have happened in Season 8 Episode 1: Launch date, klance style.
“All that guy likes are knives – and space wolves! Wh-Who even likes those things?!” – Lance raised his arms in frustration – “And He’s got a mullet! Mullets are terrible! Come on! It’s – No. Just no. No.”
After that, he stopped, completely lost in thought. As though he had frozen in a time of his own, fighting something he desperately did not want to deal with. What could it be? Allura wondered, still focusing on not slipping up in the conversation with Lance’s mother. She hoped he would sort it out so they could at least enjoy this last day on Earth with his family. This was a time for Lance to be happy and cheerful, not caught up in whatever emotional turmoil he seemed trapped in. She had done this for him. She wanted him to have a nice evening. All she wanted was for him to be happy. Where was the lively, high-spirited Lance she had come to know? Why did he look so troubled, as if he was facing his mortal enemies on the battlefield? Why did it seem like he wanted to be anywhere but here?

Summary
“And the Lance who knows exactly who he is and what he’s got to offer.” He finished, finally turning to look at him. The soft ocean-blue eyes that met him immediately took him off guard. Why did Lance have to be so beautiful? Beautiful and unavailable, he reminded himself
Come on, Keith. Say it! This is your last chance. He did not say it. In fact, he did not say anything at all. After that sentence, he just stopped completely. The only thing he managed to do was smile at him, trying his best to convey the message with his eyes and body language. You are my universe.
The smile he got back was so fond and loving, almost as if… No. There was nothing there but friendship. He had chosen to give his heart to someone else. Someone strong and alluring. Someone Keith could never measure up to. Whom would you pick – the depressed orphan or the beautiful princess? The answer seemed obvious to him. This was what made Lance happy, and for that, Keith was grateful. At least one of us got what they wanted in the end. What should have happened in Season 8: Episode 1 - Launch date.

Summary
Keith lost the rest of the argument, too occupied with nudging the back of Lance’s hand with his own. When cobalt eyes met amethyst, he felt heat feather out in the crest of his cheeks, a nervous smile blossoming. It was a good nervous this time, a nervous filled with anticipation for what he hoped was to come. As Lance smiled back at him, somewhat shyly biting his lower lip, Keith decided to be brave. Slotting their fingers together, he leaned in closer, slowing his erratic heartbeat.
