Summary
Klaus began to lift his hand to ruffle Vanya’s hair playfully like usual, but stopped himself when Ben scolded him. He tried to play it off as a wave instead. It was the wrong hand for a greeting, Vanya’s eyes followed GOODBYE around with confusion. “Bonjour ma petite lesbienne.” Klaus awkwardly sang, the words flying from his mouth without his intention. “Bonjour mon... grand gai?” his sister murmured with a befuddled furrowed brow.

Summary
Ben winced nervously as he witnessed Klaus put his arm around Vanya; he knew his sister struggled with touching people. Vanya’s teary eyes grew wide with unease at the gesture, but Klaus just brashly forced her head onto his shoulder - completely unaware or unbothered by their sister’s reluctance. “I bet your feet hurt.” Klaus giggled, looking at the heels she’d discarded. Ben agreed, he doubted Vanya had ever worn heels before in her entire life.
Set in Allison’s wedding reception.

Summary
Dopily flitting his sights across the apartment, Klaus spotted a typewriter on her dining table. He stumbled over to the it, massively intrigued. Vanya had been the only one at the academy who’d had thorough typing lessons - dad said there wasn’t much point for the rest of them, you could quite easily just bludgeon someone to death with it. No special training required. “What’re you writing?” he slurred as he ran a curious finger across the keys. “Nothing interesting.” Vanya self-consciously stated. Klaus thought she looked apologetic, guilty even... but he knew she always looked that way, like she was sorry for existing.

Summary
“Knock again.” Ben demanded, shoving his hands into his pockets. He needed to see Vanya, he missed her so much. “You knock, you prick!” Klaus pettily yelped, purely to get a rise from Ben.
A concerned looking Vanya opened the door, furrowing her brow immediately. Klaus cleared his throat and turned to face her, dropping his scowl to grin like a Cheshire Cat. “Happy birthday!” he exclaimed, shoving the gift out towards her.
Or - Ben really wants to see Vanya on their birthday.

Summary
“This wasn’t your fault, Klaus.” she gently assured. There was no excuse for what had happened. Klaus opened his mouth, Vanya guessed it was to make some kind of internalised homophobic statement about himself. She hated to talk over her siblings, she didn’t feel worthy of interrupting them - but she had to this time. “We get treated like this just for existing,” she paused her dabbing of his wound to meet his eyes “you did nothing wrong, people will always have an issue.” She bashfully looked away from his eyes as she realised what she’d said.
“We?” he whispered, which wasn’t something he did very often.

Summary
““Thanks” she shyly smiled up at Klaus, “I like the uh...” she paused. She didn’t even know where to begin, she knew she wasn’t a fashionista like Allison, but even she could tell this outfit was... eclectic at best. “I like these” she apprehensively pointed up at his tiny, hot pink sunglasses.“

Summary
“I’m gonna need you to call the cops and tell them I broke in.” Of all the things her brother could’ve said, she wasn’t expecting this. It took her a moment to gather her thoughts and look up at his guilty, forced smile. “Why?” She really didn’t know what else to say. “Because of this” he cracked in a too high pitch voice, before punching directly through her window with his bare hand and dragging himself inside.

Summary
“Is it a ghost?” Vanya whispered anxiously. Her brother nodded. “I think she was our goddamn nanny.” Klaus snivelled. Vanya knitted her brow, wondering why she’d have the ghost of a nanny in her home. “Why would she...” she murmured softly. “I don’t know.” Klaus sighed “There were ghost nannies in the academy but I just used to run away.” he flatly chuckled. Vanya wanted to ask why he’d ran away when he could’ve just banished them, but now wasn’t the appropriate time.

Summary
“I used to use black marker as eyeliner when we were kids, but I nearly went blind once and I learnt my lesson.” That was one of the most tame instances of Klaus’ oversharing that Vanya had ever witnessed. “Was that why dad banned Sharpies?!” Vanya accidentally spoke loudly, mind-blown by this information. She sunk further into her seat, bashful about drawing unwanted attention to them. “Nope, but that was because of me too.” Klaus mischievously admitted, which left Vanya unsure if she wanted to know the story behind that. He sniffed them, didn’t he? Of course he did.
