Summary
That's when Eddie notices it.
Buck's movements are extremely slow, like he is forcing his muscles to cooperate; his posture is slightly hunched, and since they arrived here, Buck hasn't said anything. He didn't even open his mouth. And now, he keeps staring at the space before him, hardly blinking. His baby blues look almost lifeless.
"Buck?" Eddie cups Buck's cheek and tilts his head.
Buck doesn't answer him. He keeps staring at nothing.
No. This isn't just a shock. Something's very wrong.

He turns on his side, his back facing Eddie, and closes his eyes. He will only sleep for a few hours and go back to the living room before Eddie wakes up, all he needs is to spend the remainder of the night with Eddie next to him and soak his safety, feel his presence, that's all he wants.
A whisper rough with sleep breaks the silence and startles him, causing his barely steady heart to drop in his chest.
