Summary
Axel is definitely a really cute kid, and Vesper adores the shit out of him, but nowadays he’s become Altare’s tiny sticky shadow. Altare dotes on the boy like nothing else, indulging him with ‘sparring’ and keeping snacks tucked away in his pockets. The endless cuddling, the warm headpats, the way he tucks Axel into his embrace when it’s naptime – it’s all reminiscent of a nesting bunny and it’s warm, round-bellied kit. It’s adorable. What’s not adorable is that Vesper hasn’t been able to kiss or even hug Altare without a fussy baby pulling at the leader’s jacket and weaponizing those big puppy dog eyes.

Altare has always been free and unashamed with his affection. It was always compliments, head pats and light-hearted teasing with him. But he also had a soft spot for cute things, which Flayon happily reaps the benefits of. Altare was too easily swayed by big weepy eyes and pouting. Altare’s eyes would soften, and his voice would colour with something fond, and he would give in.
That’s why when a deep-set hunger settled into his belly and his hands ached to claw into something, Flayon’s first thought was to go home.
