Summary
Jay doesn’t voice his worries, Alex looks tired, like he hasn’t slept in a while. “Is everything alright?” And Jay knows it’s a stupid question, he already supposes he knows the answer that no, he is not alright.
Alex swallows, his voice is thick. “I don’t know,” he says, his voice uncharacteristically quiet, the corners of his eyes prick with heat.

Summary
“I don’t what to do, I wanna help, Jess, I do,” Amy sighs. “I’m just mad he won’t tell me anything, he’s scaring me.” Something pools in her stomach, she’s leaving some details out.
“I’d been helping with makeup and behind the scenes and now he isn’t letting me know about anything either,” Amy says, the rigidness to her voice beginning to wane.
Amy’s shoulders slump and the concern on Jessica’s face is evident.
“You can’t make him tell you anything he doesn’t want to, it’s probably for the best you don’t worry yourself about it,” Jessica watches Amy’s frown cross her face.

Summary
“Oh God,” she breathes out, she’s moving before anything registers in her brain, her hands reaching out, one on the base of Alex’s neck. “What happened to you?”
“Are you hurt?” Amy’s voice is cautious as she speaks, her arms draping over Alex’s shoulders, she guides him into the bathroom, her free hand on the doorknob, pushing the door open with her hip and she has Alex sit down on the edge of the tub.
Pushing back the dark lace curtains that lined the outside of the tub, she flicks the lights on, illuminating the bathroom, it shines on the porcelain of the sink.
opening the cabinets and rummaging through the towels and soaps underneath the sink—this sinks into an almost new normal.

Summary
The metal is cold, and heavy in his hand. Alex had only handled guns from Brian and he didn’t know the intricacies of it, there was a science to it and Brian understood it, Alex was spooked by the sounds.
He didn’t stick around to figure it out, hesitant fingers dragged against the smooth finish of it.
“Alex, when did you get this?” Amy’s voice rings in his ears, a small thud rattling from the wooden door table and he peers up at Amy, she’s lingering over his chair and he shuts his laptop.
“Where did you find that?” Alex blurts out, his words are faster than his brain. It sounds horrible and he sees the way Amy’s eyes narrow.

Summary
Alex’s eyes fluttered open, he stared upwards toward the ceiling. He turns on his side, noticing a piece sticking out from underneath his pillow.
Pulling it out, it’s a picture of Amy, originally it’d been in his wallet. He’d traded it out to keep it under his pillow instead.
His eyes shut.

Summary
It’s a slow change, it always is.
It’s stress, that’s all it is. Alex bristles way easier than he used to but perhaps it’s better than how he always just dissolved into tears.
It doesn’t mean it isn’t out of the ordinary or strange but no one presses on it when it first begins happening. It’s just stress because he’s in college and the film is a big thing for him, it’s basically his baby for how long he’s been working on it.
