Summary
The pain of getting his heart broken by a man he considered his forever proves to be too much, and Buck doesn't think too much before booking tickets for a flight to Canada. He needs time and space, he needs to process the pain on his own. Only old habits die hard, so as soon as he's there, he buys postcards to send to his family, accidentally grabbing an extra one. Thus starts the accidental process of writing to Tommy, saying everything he couldn't say
Back in LA, Tommy's faced with the reality that he's not alone - the 118 aren't letting him go. They force him to think about what he's done, face his fears, no matter how much he doesn't want to. Letters from Evan only make it worse

Summary
Of course, Buck is angry. He got his heart shattered by a man who thought he could tell Buck what he should feel. He's hurt, he's angry, and he's not ready to let it go. Hen's words resonate - he should fight for this relationship if he wants a future with Tommy, so that's exactly what he does. He drives over full of righteous anger and hurt, only to be faced with a ruined, heartbroken man that he still loves

Summary
Months after the breakup, after ruining any chance he's ever had with Evan, Tommy is forced to crash his helicopter into a pond as a last-ditch effort to save others and himself. He's very surprised to wake up on someone's lawn, and even more surprised when faced with a version of himself happily renovating a house with Evan, clearly in love. And brave about it.
He's even more surprised to wake up again, this time in a hospital, with Evan holding his hand. Tommy knows he has to fix the mess of his own making

Summary
As soon as the 118 learn about the breakup, they make a decision - Tommy's a good guy, but he needs to convince all of them that he's in it for real before he gets close to Buck again. They know Buck's too free with his heart, so they're determined to protect it for him, even if it hurts to see him mope around after the breakup
As it happens, Buck knows about their plan, and isn't very impressed by it. When he and Tommy get back together after 4 days, they decide to keep it a secret, working to be stronger together
It leads to a series of events that look very different depending on the point of view.

Summary
Tommy’s back hits the wall with a thud, and he fights with himself not to go completely limp like his body is dying to do. Evan’s right there, one hand on his chest keeping Tommy pinned, and the other cupping his face, a bit cruel, a bit mean. He forces him to look Evan in the eyes, and the anger is expected.
“Tommy,” the other man rasps, voice ruined and a bit wet, as if he’s trying to fight back tears. “Tell me you don’t want this.” Tommy's eyes flit away, unable to bear looking at his ex-boyfriend, at the harm he’s done. “Look at me and tell me you don’t want me anymore.”
