“Ah, yes. It is a newer affair, less than six hundred years old. The one they are currently celebrating is one of the oldest holidays that is on our calendar. It is called “Festival of Lights”. A sightseeing and gift-giving holiday.”
“I see.” Dr. Ratio nods and Screwllum can see his brow furrowing. They walk a few more paces before Dr. Ratio stops walking. “What do you mean by ‘they’ celebrate?”

“What if I let them down, Screwllum?” He wants to sigh, not at Veritas but at the situation. It is something he has come to greatly dislike—dare say hate—this insecurity Veritas has about his place at Screwllum’s side and his standing with Screwllum’s people.
“That is impossible, dear one. Request: Please trust on this matter, Veritas. If need be, I can provide the signature list that was provided in the original proposal supporting their interest in you judging the competition. Affirmation: It is a simple holiday lights competition, beloved. Though I am certain they would love for you to be involved with our academics and research as well.”

“Query: Is that not what the activity is? Upon learning that snow had settled and would stay, I looked up activities to do in the snow. There is not enough snow, nor do we have many hills, to enjoy snowboarding or sledding, and the ice rink is quite busy these days. So, I decided that a snowball fight was the most logical answer.” He’s…actually stunned speechless. Trust Screwllum to say something so absurd with such a serious tone.
Because he is being serious.
He hates how much he finds it…endearing.
“If you wanted a snowball fight, you should have told me. We could have set something up in the yard.” Screwllum nods at his words.
“Yes, but my research informed me that often times, snowball fights are started when one person throws a snowball unexpectedly. Like I just did.” He screeches when another snowball hits him in the side, right against his bare skin. “And like I have just done again.”

He smirks. “If you are taking requests, I would like to have a new hall built for debates. I have found that Planet Screwllum does not partake in enough of them.”
“Ah, hello my dear.” Screwllum gestures with his hand for the Screwllumite at the front of the line to hold for a moment. “Thank you for your request. However, as you have cut the line, that request has been immediately denied. If you would like to request again, please wait in the line.”
“Or, I can help you with your notes and then you agree to my proposal.”
