Description:

Author’s Note: My Fairy Tale Thing (But Not Really Fairy Tales 😄)
These are basically my versions of modern fairy tales.
No castles, no princes, no rescuing anyone. Just people with jobs, friends, messy lives, and relationships that actually have to work day to day.
I write romance the way I like to read it, which is probably why I ended up writing my own. I got a bit frustrated with a lot of modern romance where:
- the characters don’t act like the same person from one chapter to the next
- the drama comes from people being unnecessarily awful or not communicating
- or the sex feels completely separate from the relationship

Also—if I’m already suspending disbelief, I don’t really want to spend it on men behaving in ways that in real life would get them dumped, blocked, or reported 😅 I’d rather write people I actually like and would want in my life.

Notes:

So in my stories:
- people are generally competent and decent (even if they’re flawed)
- relationships are built on actually liking each other
- sex is part of the relationship, not the whole point of it
- no one needs to be torn down to make the main couple work

There’s still plenty of sex (a lot of it sometimes), but also a lot of:
- talking
- teasing
- domestic stuff
- random details about work/life that I probably go into too much 😅

My characters are often successful (rock stars, hockey players, etc.), but they’re not just that. They have lives outside the relationship, and the relationship fits into that.

At the end of the day, it’s not about someone being “chosen” because they’re better than everyone else. It’s more that these two people just… fit. And once they find that, they don’t want anything else.

These are long, a bit self-indulgent, and very much written for me—but if you like the same things, you’ll probably have a good time too 😊
