Summary
"Did you finish your winter break homework?" Tim asked, his "dad voice" coming out. That’s what Jason had deemed it at least. Dick didn’t believe him until last year at their Hanukkah party when Thomas was trying to climb the fireplace.
Caitlyn hummed in affirmation. "Yeah. AP Lang was a pain because the poster board requirements were insane, but I got it done."
"And Computer Science?" Conner added.
"Dad helped me," she shrugged. "I don't know why the hell Mrs. Andrews expects us to learn a whole unit on our own, but whatever. I'm not the one getting a paycheck."
"Please don’t curse in front of your brother," Tim warned, though there was no heat in it. “He repeats everything you say.”
Thomas, who was currently dissecting his sandwich with his fingers, nodded solemnly. "Yeah, Cait. Don't curse. You aren't a witch."

Summary
Tim stood there, the cool night air suddenly feeling like a vacuum, sucking the breath from his lungs. He looked at the empty playground, the colorful slides and swings looking like skeletons in the dark.
“Our kids,” Tim whispered, a sharp, stabbing pain blooming in his chest. He reached out, grabbing the roof of the car to steady himself as the world began to tilt. The calculated, logical side of his brain was fighting a losing battle against the raw, screaming panic of a father. “Kon-El... our kids are missing.”

Summary
“Axel’s just a friend. The person I want to ask isn’t.” Caitlyn bit her lip for a moment, her gaze returning to her fathers. “I want to ask Inaya because I like-like her. And... I’m bisexual.”
Tim felt his entire body untense. The physical weight he’d been carrying since she asked for the "serious talk" simply evaporated into the air. He felt a wave of profound gratitude that she felt safe enough to tell them this. “Oh, thank God,” he said, letting his shoulders drop and his head lean back against the sofa.

Summary
"Red Robin, we really need you," Oracle’s voice crackled through the encrypted channel, stripped of its usual warmth and replaced by a cold, professional edge. "We got some intel from Hood and Arsenal. The Joker is in Jump City. Wondergirl and Impulse are not situated to handle a crisis like this. Jump City is going to be a playground for every lowlife with a crowbar. Nightwing and Signal are already on the ground, but we need your brain, Red Robin."
Tim let out a long, weary sigh, his forehead dropping against a plastic LEGO wing with a soft, dull clack. He looked at Thomas, whose eyes were wide, the pupils dilating as he caught the shift in the room's energy. That familiar, tiny spark of worry was there—the one that made Tim feel like a failure, as if his choice to be a hero was a debt his son was forced to pay in anxiety.
"Fine. Whatever. I'm coming,"

Summary
Tim pressed his thumb to the scanner. The lock disengaged with a familiar, metallic clack, but the moment the door swung open, the air that greeted him wasn't the usual scent of home—laundry detergent and whatever Conner had started for dinner. It was a sharp, aggressive floral perfume and the scent of expensive, ozone-heavy cologne.
Tim froze. His heart didn't just skip a beat; it seemed to stop entirely, a cold stone in his chest, before it began a frantic, panicked gallop.
"Mother? Father?"

Summary
“Papa?” Thomas’s voice was small, hesitant.
Conner opened one eye, offering a sleepy, affectionate grin. “Yeah, pal? Everything okay? You look like you just found out we’re out of cereal.”
Thomas walked closer, the green paper crinkling in his grip. “I need help with a project for school. My teacher says it’s very important and everyone has to do one.”
Tim looked up from his book, a faint sense of dread beginning to prickle at the back of his neck. He knew that look. He had seen that look on every Robin’s face at least once. “Of course, bud. We’re always happy to help with schoolwork. What’s the project?”
“It’s a family tree,” Thomas announced.
Conner sat up, stretching his arms over his head. “A family tree? We can handle that. We’ve got glue, we’ve got markers... we can do a really big one. When do you need to start working on it?”
Thomas bit his lower lip. “Now? It’s due tomorrow.”

Summary
“It is four in the afternoon on a Thursday, Caiti,” Conner remarked, his voice carrying that easy, Midwestern lilt that always seemed to ground the room. “The sun is still up, the world is still turning, and you haven't even had dinner yet. What exactly has ruffled your feathers to this extent?”
Caitlyn didn't sit up. She merely turned her head to the side, her cheek squished uncomfortably into a particularly scratchy red throw blanket that smelled faintly of lavender detergent. Her eyes looked wide and slightly panicked.
“What did you and Dad do for your one-year anniversary?” she demanded, the words slightly distorted by the fabric.
Conner snorted, a genuine, amused sound that vibrated in his chest. He turned back to the dresser, moving a stack of Tim’s watch cases to wipe underneath them. “Caiti, you’re asking the wrong guy. I was technically dead for our one-year anniversary. Or maybe I was in that alternate future? The timeline is a bit of a mess. I have no idea when our ‘one-year’ actually is.”

Tim Drake wouldn't call himself a master escape artist. Sure, he was smart—he knew that he could tackle the most complex challenges with just his brain, could analyze a situation from seventeen different angles before most people even understood there was a problem. But right now, as he sat in the principal's office of his son's elementary school, with his husband on one side and his son on the other—Thomas's knuckles red and raw, sitting across from his mortal enemy of two years, Diane, and her son Jackson, who had a split lip and a bruise blooming across his cheek—Tim wasn't so sure he could claim any title at all except "completely out of his depth.

Something settled in Caitlyn's chest then. Something that felt like purpose. Like the particular weight of love that means doing something even when no one asked you to, even when no one will ever know the full measure of what it cost.

Summary
"Give me a moment," Tim said, very evenly. His voice had the quality of something held together with careful hands. "I'm experiencing something."
She rolled her eyes—the motion fond and exasperated and deeply, essentially hers—and said: "You're embarrassing. I love you. We leave in fifteen minutes."
Thomas chose this moment to arrive at a full sprint, Batman gripped aloft like a torch, his face alight with the announcement. He skidded to a halt before her and looked up with enormous eyes and the expression of a person encountering a natural wonder.
"You look like a witch," he said, which was the highest honor in his current hierarchy of things.
Caitlyn crouched to his height. "Yeah?"
Thomas nodded with great seriousness. He lifted Batman toward her. "He wanted to come watch. Batman has never seen a graduation."

Summary
Tim's glasses had slid down his nose. He pushed them up, registered Caitlyn standing in the middle of the room with an envelope, and arranged himself into a sitting position with the speed of a man who had spent years training his body to go from rest to alert in under two seconds. "What happened?"
"Nothing happened," Caitlyn said. "Nothing bad. I just—" She held up the envelope. "I got into a school."
A beat.
"A school," Tim said.
"For college. For September."
Conner smiled— broad and immediate, the smile he wore when something good had happened and he had no complicated feelings about it yet. "Cait. That's— which school?"
She took a breath. "Gotham University."
