and it's enough, it's always more than enough, for niran to pull cheewa down with him, into the gutter, into this gloam, all over the carpeted floor, as he embraces the sun, burning his flesh, scalding his skin, with cheewa's never-ceasing radiance, succumbing to the perishing light.
or, niran's beaten down because he lost a competition. cheewa folds paper stars with notes and puts them in a jar. he gives them to niran in hopes that it'll lift his spirits again.
