I've been called a lot of things. A freak, a mistake, an abomination, a sadist, a psycho, a monster. Basically ton of fancy ways of saying I'm unwanted by every family that trys to take me in, that I don't fit in anywhere with anyone. Whatever it's not like I care, my life is fine the way it is, houses are overrated anyway. I thought it would be like that forever until I found a man in the woods, holding a dagger over some boy, covered in his blood, smiling at his screams.

Even better he agrees to teach me! But so quickly I barely notice it I start to feel something dangerously close to.. Reliance... Even trust. All the things I banned myself from feeling a long time ago. Is this what being wanted feels like? What being loved feels like? It's strange, scary. The Monster was born from a single promise.
Anything, Odysseus had said. Anything to get home.
Ten years later, Odysseus is almost gone, and the Monster has finally gotten what he wanted: a body, a name, and a life of his own.
His first act of freedom is murder. His second is finding a child.
Eight years old. Filthy. Underfed. And fascinated by the blood on the Monster’s hands.
Most children would have screamed.
This one asks to be taught.
The Monster sees an opportunity. A student. A son.
He’ll teach the boy how to wield a blade, find a person’s weakness, and turn fear into power.
He’ll make a monster.
That was the plan.
But somewhere between lessons, arguments, scraped knees, and stolen smiles, the Monster begins to care.
The boy becomes more than a student. More than a project.
He becomes his son.
And the Monster doesn’t realize that loving him is the most dangerous thing he could have done.
