Summary
He’d barely made it out of the throne room when Hazel caught it. Max was limping. Not dramatically; if she hadn’t been watching him, she might have missed it entirely. But every few steps, his weight shifted away from one leg, and his jaw tightened for half a second before his expression smoothed over again.
// Hazel notices that Max's leg is hurting him. Whumptober Day 1: I'm fine.

Summary
It was supposed to be a simple trip, one they had done thousands of times. The Smees wanted to visit some family in Neverland, and it being spring break, they had plenty of time. There wasn’t supposed to be a storm.

Summary
His father stood on the other side of the workshop, one hand resting against the wooden door. The room was the same as he remembered it: shelves overflowing with strange mechanisms, half-finished inventions scattered across worktables, blueprints pinned haphazardly to the walls, and dozens of little machines clicking and whirring to themselves. In the center of it all was the Oraculum, his father’s prized possession.
Except something was different. There hadn’t been a lock on the door before today.
// Maddox knows Max is coming to break the Oraculum and does something about it. Whumptober Day 6: Kidnapped.
