Summary
Ignis always wakes up first, (almost) always. For the most part, it's because he sleeps less and has things to do, like prep breakfast. It also means that Ignis gets to drink a cup of Ebony and has time for it to take effect before he has to deal with his sometimes irksome friends.
But over the course of their trip there have been rare instances where one of the others will be the first to wake up.

Pre-game, Prompto is sick or injured(not necessarily seriously) and winds up in the hospital. When the staff try to call his parents, they can't get through to them.
When questioned, a woozy and/or heavily medicated Prompto suggests they call Noctis with his phone. Queue a mild panic on behalf of the staff member when they realise he is genuinely talking about *Prince Noctis* and telling them to call the actual prince. Confused and drowsy, Prompto suggests Ignis instead.

Prompto recently started visiting his boyfriend Gladio at the Citadel and he's pretty nervous there because it's so huge and there are all these glaives and crownsguards milling about. Usually when he's with Noctis he's not in this part of the Citadel so he doesn't know anyone in this particular wing and it's kind of intimidating.
He recently started training with Gladio who wants his bf to be able to defend himself. Gladio's not going easy on him just because he loves him. Prom appreciates the fact that Gladio thinks him capable enough not to go easy on him.
Problem is, people notice this small blonde who looks skittish and nervous and sports a lot of bruises (from training) with this big guy Gladio and they get the wrong idea.
+ Gladio has a tendency to put an arm around Prom, to grab his shoulder, etc to reassure him when he's nervous but from a stranger's POV it looks possessive and controlling.
