There is a legend of a corrupt Royal Knight known as DarkMagnamon. Years ago, he brought utter chaos to the Digital World, but was sealed away in an ancient temple. Now he has been freed from his imprisonment, and the Digital World is in grave danger once again. Worst of all, he has the power to resurrect the evil Digimon of the past, and has made it his mission to do so in order for darkness to rule over the light. The DigiDestined must stop him at any costs, before all their past enemies return. But DarkMagnamon may prove to be too much for them, and the end of the Digital World could be upon them.

Summary
With Viktor as the reigning Digimon Grand Prix Champion (aka. The yearly digimon card game tournament), Yuuri enters, only to crumble when Vicchan dies right before. After his early loss, he seeks the first dog he sees in the park for comfort while the tournament continues – only the dog is Monodramon. Yuuri convinces himself he’s made that up, until his card reader turns into a digivice and a Leomon tells him he’s a real life tamer. Now, Yuuri needs to prove to himself, his partner, and the others in the tamer scene (including a rather volatile Yuri Plisetsky and his Meicoomon, the bored Digimon King Viktor and his Monodramon, and his friend Phichit and Cameramon, as well as a few others they meet along the way), that he can handle the trespassing Digimon of the day (especially when they get too close to home), and any world-threatening enemies that may show up in the future.

If Jou could see the scene unfolding before Yamato’s eyes, he would know the answer is no. Judging by how badly Greymon is beating its opponent into submission, Yamato doesn’t even think he needed to mobilize as backup in the first place, but he’s already here, standing in the darkness besides the collapsed bridge after abandoning his own mission, watching dumbly as some stranger and his Digimon neutralize the threat in his stead. He’s going to hear an earful from headquarters about this for sure.
“Uh,” Yamato drones out to fill the silence in their call before Jou thinks he’s hung up, and the other man cheers with a triumphant punch into the air as Greymon winds up for the final blow, sucking in a deep breath that leaves embers gathering between its fangs. “I, uh… don’t think that’s necessary.
