It’s weird, like getting goosebumps on your skin but instead of feeling it outside of your body it flows within, throughout your entire nervous system. Shocking you to your very core. Or maybe something closer to a static shock, when you drag your feet on the carpet and then touch a door handle. That might be closer, but it doesn’t describe the shiver that sends down his spine. Prickling at the bone as if trying to force itself into its marrow.

It belonged on the same slippery slope as using her powers for even a brief moment to fix the imperfectly drawn spiral that continued to bother her no matter the times she fixed it. Mark Grayson grinned, breathed, and existed in the same place where the rest of her had gone until she was finished with this pause of “ordinary,” further down in her mind than the minuscule twitches her fingertips would give around the peculiar feeling of phasing molecules. Right beside the things she didn’t want to think about and yet still plagued her, the things she never had the heart to let go of altogether.
A rewrite (and reimagining) of Invincible season 3 (ep.2—onwards) from Atom Eve’s perspective.
