Summary
Birgitte is enjoying her farewell party at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when a certain someone decides to show up.
- - - -
“I’d hoped for a slightly warmer welcome.”
“You’ve come to the wrong place, then. It’s not just Magnus. There are several people here who would love nothing more than to punch you in the face.”
“Including you, I suspect.”

Summary
Birgitte is overworked, and Michael knows just how to make her relax. And yes, it's exactly what it sounds like.
Sequel to Under the Bridge.
- - - -
“You’ve been to two NATO summits before. You know how they work.”
“This one is different,” she insisted.
Laugesen leaned on the edge of her desk.
“You’re right. It is different. You’re not PM this time.”
“I know that,” she said, annoyed at the reminder.
“Then stop preparing as if you were. You need to relax and let the actual PM run the show. This is exactly what led to your conflict with Signe in the first place: You want to be in charge of everything.”

Summary
What if Birgitte had used Laugesen's speech?
- - - -
“To be honest, I didn’t think you had it in you. But you really went for the jugular with Sejrø.”
Birgitte shrank back into her chair.
“It’s not something that I’m proud of,” she said, reaching for her wine and downing it in an attempt to block Bent’s broken expression from her memory.
“Well, you should be. Not a lot of people would have the guts to do it. But you did what was necessary. I respect that.”

Summary
Birgitte's secret advisor stops by her house to help her write a speech.
- - - -
“Sometimes you have to compromise,” she said. “But that doesn’t mean I’ve abandoned my values.”
“Of course it does. You changed politics to keep your position as Foreign Minister. That’s the definition of selling out.” She wanted to object, but he raised his hand, stopping her. “You don’t have to defend your decision to me, Birgitte. I understand you very well. I would’ve done the same thing if I’d still been in politics.”
“That doesn’t exactly reassure me, given that you are an amoral bastard. Honestly, don't you ever have trouble sleeping at night?”

Summary
Du skiftede udelukkende holdning for at pleje dine egne interesser.”

She snorted.
“Prove it.”

Summary
Mit take på klassikeren: Trapped in a small space with someone you hate.
