Summary
Kakuzu has always done well on his own. For years he was devoted to the Akatsuki, a clandestine organization of hired assassins whose goal was to eliminate potential threats to the goals of their mysterious leader, always working alone. Part of this was due to his bad temper and insatiable thirst for the blood of his partners, but this was a factor that, despite the reputation that preceded him, the man managed to mask with ease. After all, his companions would not be the ones who doubted the fury of a renegade, similar to their own anger that, in one way or another, brought them there.
But even loyalty to the Akatsuki has its drawbacks. For months he found himself trapped in an affair with a mysterious man, who never gave him promises or false hopes; exactly what Kakuzu needed to appease his anxieties in moments of weakness. But the imminence of a strange cult dedicated to the god Jashin, a new service — and the true identity of the owner of his pleasurable nights — puts everything at risk, along with the certainty that Kakuzu was born to be alone.

Parte disso se dava por seu péssimo temperamento e sede insaciável pelo sangue de seus parceiros, mas este era um fator que, apesar da reputação que o precedia, o homem conseguia mascarar com facilidade. Afinal, não seriam os seus companheiros que iriam duvidar da fúria de um renegado, semelhante às suas próprias iras que, de uma forma ou de outra, os trouxeram até ali.

So, this was Tobi?
Hidan cringed, “I rather be sacrificed to Lord Jashin than be saved by a fucker like you!”
