A bottle of sunscreen flew at Trunks’s head and missed. Vegeta turned to his daughter, his eyes narrowing in scrutiny. But it didn’t matter how hard he looked, to him, she would always be three years old, in pigtails, crying over a lost toy. He turned away and scoffed.
“Bulla would never do a thing like that,” he declared.
“Okay, but... hypothetically, if she did have, like, a tattoo of a star on her ass—what would you do?”
“Oh my gods, Trunks, I will literally murder you.” The fire in Bulla’s eyes said she meant it.
“Children,” Bulma interrupted. “I’m hearing a lot of talking, when all I want to be hearing is the peaceful sound of waves crashing on the shore and the tinkle of ice cubes as the strapping cabana boy refills my cocktail.”
“Hmph. What cabana boy?” Vegeta asked.

Summary
Dragon Ball R&N is a fanfiction following a few different what-ifs I had burning in my mind. What if Raditz and Nappa ended up not dying, and instead got a similar treatment to Vegeta, and as well as that, what if the Earthlings were actually allowed to provide something in Z outside of standing on the sidelines while Goku handles the situation.
Gradually I will make my way through the entirety of Z, while filling some space with villains from the movies being retooled to fit into this alternate universe. Positions are being shuffled around, and with it the plot will change in accordance.
The fic will be split into parts, and this will be the first part. Primarily going over the "Vegeta Saga", with extra details being given to training on Earth, and something extra in the falling action of Vegeta's Arrival.

Gohan centric and weirdly comforting to me despite the dark and gritty subject matter.
No part of this fic felt like a slog and the tension was beautifully consistent as well as the pacing.
Author’s prose allowed me to viscerally feel for the characters. Additionally, everyone’s characterisation was excellent.
The cyclical structure of the story made for a deeply satisfying ending.

While Goku and Vegeta scour the galaxy, Bulma plots to discover who is responsible for her abduction, and plans a daring escape of her own. 'Landed' doesn't accurately describe the situation he found himself in. Trunks was brought back too far in the past thanks to a certain wish.
A certain wish made by the teen scientist Bulma Briefs, no less. A wish he didn't really want to get into, either.
Thanks to this wishful thinking, Trunks had no time machine to get back home, a body that wasn't the one he was supposed to have, with said body feeling like it had died. And all of that came without the power he once had.
And on top of that? He had a whole mess of problems all tied together by a red ribbon.
He arrived in the Year 749, just eight months before the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai.
