“I… I don’t think there’s such a thing as irreversible loss,” Pike swallowed. “Even in death, I think we all will meet one another in the afterlife. And, uh, there are always right ways to bring someone back from that, I think?” she played with her fingers some more. “I believe that loss is more of how we feel about something than about… the event itself.”

Vex'ahlia struggles with the marks that the events of Whitestone left, especially her fight with Vax'ildan and Keyleth's sacrifice. Two years after Dalen's Closet, Vex felt trapped by the mundane nature of the life she had fought so hard to get. When she mentioned that she wanted a vacation, what Vex really meant was that she needed an adventure. Thankfully, Wildemount and Tary had just the quest to help relieve some of that tension. So, Percy and Vex went on a trip... and of course Vex needed a reward for a job well done.
