This would have been easier if they hadn't woken up the giant bird who has the indoor voice of a howler monkey, but Charlie could probably use a vacation where he doesn't have to hide how old he is. Or who is dad is. Or the flying reindeer. And if any street deserves to know that Santa really does exist, it's definitely Sesame Street.
Just a cute story, the two universes are explained in the opening notes.

Summary
Bernard finds an old invention which even Quintin doesn't recognize. Knowing that it's dangerous to leave it lying around, the four activate it and are thrown back in time... centuries earlier to the absolute worst possible time they could have arrived in the past at the North Pole that still had St. Nicholas running around. Now, the elves need to hide who they are, their secrets lead to dark misunderstandings, and Charlie suggests a really bad idea to keep everyone safe. But a lack of trust can only lead to a very shaky alliance and they need to get back to the present before something irreparably breaks.

The thing about the North Pole was that it was loud. Not in a disruptive way, rather that there was always something to hear, from the jingle of bells to the wind in the trees.
