“Ray!” Fraser's voice, quiet though he was sure to keep it, carried loudly in the stacks and startled the man standing there.
Who was -- not Ray?
A quiet, comfortingly Canadian voice responded. “Sorry?”

Summary
“Since when did you believe in anything we say?” Dean says, trying to reestablish some sort of footing. “You think it’s a bunch of crazy nut-jobs out there.”
“That doesn’t mean I tempt fate.” He hisses. “Doesn’t mean I don’t know better. The native folk don’t use its name, because it knows when you do. You might as well light a beacon saying ‘come eat me!’.”

Summary
Would Ray be on his knees for some skanky guy, sliding the zipper down and sucking on some stranger's cock? Or would the guy have Ray backed up against the wall, jerking Ray off hard and fast, listening to Ray's increasingly desperate moans? He paused, taking a gulp from one of the beers to wet his suddenly dry throat before heading out the door.

Summary
“Looking to hire?”
Alex nods. “Need to get the hay in. Won’t be easy, just two of us.”
The other man smiles suddenly, an odd little half-wince, half-smile, and shrugs. “I’m stronger than I look. Can’t be any harder than planting potatoes.”
“Room, board, and twenty-five dollars a day. Three hundred dollar bonus if we get everything done before the weather turns. You had breakfast?”
“I could eat,” the other man says, and sticks out his hand. They shake on the deal.
“Alex Bresnyachuk,” Alex says, and motions toward the door of the diner.
“Christy Mahon.” He picks up his duffel bag and falls into step next to Alex.
