The boy huffs a little laugh, leaning against the doorframe in a way that makes Niko suddenly understand the appeal of public hook-ups. She has to clench her fists at her sides to avoid dropping to her knees right then and there. “You sure ‘bout that, love?”
“Yep! Totally sure!” Niko says, grabbing the door with more force than is strictly necessary. “In fact, I'm, like, super busy right now,” she lies as she begins to shut the door, “so you really should get going.”
“Wait! Hold on just a tick,” Charles exclaims as he swiftly stops the closing of the door with his elbow. “So you're telling me you didn't accidentally dose yourself with sex pollen from Dr. Night's love potion lab?”
The girl blinks owlishly back at him in response. “No. Because that would be very, very bad.” Belatedly, she adds, “Right?”

Niko, a second-year university potions student, accidentally doses herself with sex pollen while working on a lab. Her hot British neighbor, Charles, overhears her dilemma and comes over to offer a helping hand.

As it turned out, the ‘something extra’ was a bottle full of amber liquid.
“Whisky? But you won’t even be able to taste it, right?” Crystal asked, examining the illegible label of the bottle.
“Well, the client said that it is special - apparently, he was a connoisseur during his life, and he’d spent quite a part of his afterlife rummaging the world for something that he would be able to taste… According to what he said, it kept all the qualities of the original drink.

“I’d like to make amends,” he blurted out before Edwin could say anything else.
“I beg your pardon?” Edwin looked caught off guard, and the Cat King suppressed a surge of triumph. It was nice to know he could still surprise the detective.
“It’s like you said, a spell for a spell is fair play. You put a binding spell on one of my cats, and I put a caging spell on you. But I also put a truth spell on you, so it seems only fair for you to reciprocate.” When Edwin didn’t react, he added, “I’m offering you the chance to ask me any question and compel me to answer truthfully.”
Edwin frowned, clearly skeptical. “Any question at all?”
“That’s what I said.”

Of course, he wouldn’t dare mention any of this to Edwin, not yet. Not when he isn't completely sure of his feelings just yet.
Which is why it really is extremely inconvenient when Charles spills a truth potion on himself.
