Summary
“Do you know where he is?” B.J. put the now half-empty mug down on the coffee table. “When he’ll be back?”
Daniel shook his head. “I imagine he’ll be home by morning.” For the most part, Ben still told Daniel where he planned to go when he went out, but this time he’d simply taken the car into town earlier that day. “He knows how to handle himself in the cold.”
“Right.”
-----
When Daniel Pierce finds the boy his son's been pining for shivering in the cold, it's the least he can do to try and warm him back up.When Hawkeye finds B.J. asleep in his living room, feelings he was hoping to suppress forever resurface.

Summary
It's January 1960, and Hawkeye is doing pretty well. He has a house, a cat, a job he loves, and friends in town. He's just missing one thing: the girl! Or rather... his boy bestfriend from the war, BJ Hunnicutt. Fortunately, BJ's come to town to visit... Unfortunately, BJ gots problems (i.e. layers upon layers of repression and self-delusion).
Classic BJ goes to Maine... what else is there to say?
Alternate Title: The Beejsis. Whether that is short for “Beej Thesis” or “Beej-in-crisis” is up to you. In any case, now complete!!

Summary
“Why the hell are you here?”
The sudden hostility threw BJ off, although he supposed he should have been used to it. Hawkeye had a short fuse since his extended stay at the end of the war. BJ couldn’t help but laugh in shock. “Because I miss you and I’m worried about you?”
“You know what Margaret does when she’s worried about me? She calls.” -

Summary
Erin Hunnicutt spends the summer in Seattle with her dad and the old war buddies she didn't know he had.
“My mom said we met when I was younger,” Erin said. She was still holding her green bag, standing stiffly in the middle of the living room. “Have you and my dad been friends for a long time?”
“Let’s see…we met in ‘52 That’d be 15 years now. I guess when you put it like that it just makes me sound old,” Hawkeye said.
Erin didn’t think he looked any older than her father. She’d always thought her father looked old, that there were lines in his face that weren’t in the faces of her friends’ fathers. She’d seen photos of him just before she was born. He looked young in those pictures. There was a childlike quality to his smile.
“You met my dad during the war,” Erin said.
Hawkeye smiled at her, and then tilted his head to one side, curiously. “He really didn’t tell you a thing about me, did he?” he said.
“My dad doesn’t tell me anything,” Erin said.
Hawkeye rolled his eyes. “Well, that makes two of us,” he said. “Your dad, I mean, not my dad. My dad calls me to tell me what he had for lunch.”

"Talking about my joy about coming home isn’t the main reason why I’m writing a letter right when I’m about to leave Korea. This isn’t something I can just say in a lousy telegram (though for your sake, I probably should.).

This letter is to tell you that I’m bringing a special someone back home. Yes, that someone. I can already see the smile on your face."

Hawkeye writes and sends one last letter to his dad a week before leaving Korea, telling him that he's not the only thing coming back home.-

Summary
He’d been terrified to meet her. He’d put on a brave face. Erin Hunnicutt had sharp, observant eyes. She could see right through him. Here they were again. They were making spaghetti in the kitchen, with Beej unexpectedly detained, and something else off.
“I don’t know. Tastes change. People change,” he said.
He turned away from her to pour hot water into their mugs (chamomile, with a little honey in Erin’s). He turned back and set the mug down in front of her.
“How much do they change?” Erin said.
“What?” Hawkeye said.
She curled her hands around the mug, too tightly, he thought. She had to be burning herself.
“How much can people change?” she said.

Summary
Charles gave BJ’s shoulder what he guessed might be intended as a reassuring squeeze, but it did the opposite-BJ was startled and alarmed. Why was Charles trying to reassure him? He instinctively leaned away from the hand while trying not to move his head, as Charles, Lieutenant Epps, and Father Mulcahy appeared to have a brief conversation. They all looked slightly troubled, especially Father Mulcahy, whose eyebrows were knit tightly together, a hand wrapped around his rosary. ... God, this was infuriating, BJ thought, wishing he could understand what they were saying.

Basically, what if it was BJ who lost his hearing in Goodbye, Farewell and Amen?

Early February, every year, I get… Jesus, this is embarrassing. How come it’s worse to explain to you than it was to Henry?”
“What kind of flare-up, Trap?” Hawkeye encouraged.
“Fuck. Fuck, it’s–” Trapper squeezed his eyes shut, visibly braced himself, and mumbled, “mating season.”
