Summary
"This..." Eddie started before he winced again. "This call gets recorded right?"
"Eddie... Yes, but why does it matter? You'll be okay, this call will be meaningless."
"I just... I just want to say something, in case something goes wrong. Now that I still can. I want to leave a message."
After a hectic semester at USC, May decided to return to the 9-1-1 Dispatch as a summer job to get some extra money for her college funds. On her first day back, she gets a call from Eddie Diaz, who had an accident on his way to the airport to catch his flight for El Paso. Fearing that Eddie won't make it out alive, he asks May if he can use the call to record a message, using the moment to confess his love to Chris and Buck, and coming to terms with his sexuality. However, the 118 manages to get Eddie out on time, ensuring that he makes a full recovery. Now that May knows about Eddie's feelings, she helps him to sort it out.
(or: Eddie spills his guts to May and she decides to act upon it.)
Essentially a buddie fic, but with heavy focus on May and the dynamic between May and Eddie
