Tsireya had never seen a pa’li.
Never even heard of one.
His fingers trace the edge of the pattern on his bowl.
If he couldn’t bring a pa’li here…maybe he could make one.

His arms open, and Tuk is suddenly there scrambling onto his sleeping mat, clinging to his chest with fear in her wide eyes. Her elbows crash into his ribs, causing a wince to escape his throat. It’s just dark enough that he could hardly see the outline of her ears.

Fire stations might seem fun to outsiders but half the time it’s just cleaning, sleeping, and trying not to kill each other. Well, there’s also the TV but he’s pretty sure Eddie and Chimney are fighting over that now too.
May drags her hand down his arm, giving his bicep a small pat before fully pulling away much to his displeasure. “We could continue the search for an apartment?” She says.
His body physically jumps at her words and before he can debate if it’s a good idea, he pushes his hand over her mouth. “Shh!”
