Summary
In Aciman's book, Oliver visits Elio at Christmas and announces his engagement. He also treats Elio like a stranger, refusing to touch him or even be friendly. Aciman's Elio allegedly forgives Oliver, but what if he hadn't?
Fast forward two years: Elio is in London studying Composition and Oliver is married (no kids) and suddenly appears out of nowhere. Elio is not happy about it, which is the understatement of the century.This is an AU of sorts to my previous series. You don't need to have read it to enjoy this story, but some references will be lost.
The characters I created are present here too (Jack, Pierre, etc).This London will be grittier and less soft-lensed, because Elio is virtually penniless and determined to refuse financial help from his parents.
I promise a happy ending, but the course of true love will not run smooth...

Mainly based on events in the film but with a few details from the book that I liked. As in the film, starts off slow burn then slash in later chapters.
My Oliver is the shy, caring man hiding behind a casual carefree facade as guessed at by Samuel Perlman, if you prefer a different interpretation of Oliver then this might not be for you. -

Oliver smiled at something that Miss Perlman had said and took a sip of his drink as his eyes stopped on Elio that was sitting across from him. The Perlman had some friends over - a family with their son. The boy was around Elio's age. He was good looking, sounded smart enough and couldn't stop himself from flirting with Elio. He was sitting next to Elio and was touching his hand way too often, leaning to whisper something in his ear every now and then and giving him the biggest smiles. He was so obviously flirting and it seemed like no one was paying him any attention. Elio have told him more than enough times that he had eyes only for him but that didn't exactly help his jealousy. It wasn't his fault that he stopped thinking clearly when he was jealous.

A year older, a year further away, a year more grown up. That's what Elio thinks. He's learnt in that year about sex and love. So why should going to Columbia effect him in any way? He's going there because of the excellent programme for his subject. He's absolutely not going because of an early-career academic who just happened to work there.
So we all know there's going to be a sequel to Call Me By Your Name (film). This is my take on what happens when Elio goes to University in New York City. Obviously not canon to the book, as the film isn't going to be either!
