When the condo, previously owned by the Old Mean Couple, is sold, everyone breathes a sigh of relief. The people of Sunset Bird are excited to see exactly who these new owners are. No one new ever shows up; at least not since Cliff and Cove Holden moved in a few years ago. Imagine everyone's surprise when the new tenants seem to be a bit more...posh and well to do than everyone else in town.
Enter Matthias, the youngest of 12 children to the Fairwell family. He...would rather be anywhere other than Sunset Bird. But when forced to hang out with the only two kids his age, he finds out he doesn't mind the quiet little no where town as much as he thought he would. In fact, he finds that the sights - and one beach boy in particular - are very appealing.
NOTE: This starts somewhere between Step 1 and Step 2, but closer to Step 2 - about a year or so prior. Not beta read - so any mistakes, let me know in the comments and I can fix them!

This is a combination taking place in the summer of our life beginning and always, but it combines characters from our life now and forever. Once Now and Forever is finished I will write a story for it as well, but I will link them both together. Our life adopted children features Aurora Natsilani, along with her twin brother Arrow Natsilani but with a twist. They are actually triplets separated by the adoption agency by accident, now the siblings meet each other during the summer when school is out their other sister Amber Ibn La Ahad who is being raised by her adopted mother with an adopted older sister like her siblings and a younger sister that is her mother's biological daughter. As these characters begin making appearances so two in following chapters as they get older will the cast of Our life now and forever.

Cove knew where home was. It was the two bedroom apartment where he lived for most his life, the city street lights shining from his window nightly, the sound of his mother's humming, and his father's boisterous laughter.
But when he moves to Sunset bird, he is told to readjust his definition of home. Suddenly, home was this: copy-paste surburban houses all lined up in neat horizontal rows, his father's lonely footsteps ambling around the house, and his mother's weekly phone calls.
This is not the home Cove has known for all his life and he refused to let this sadder version be it's replacement. So of course, he does what a rational, wise eight year old boy would do in his situation: he runs away.
In another life, he runs to cry on a poppy hill and finds his soulmate.
In this life, things get much more complicated than that.
