Galgo Helder is at the end of his rope. Broke and bitter, he turns to a mysterious game that promises wealth beyond what he so desperately needs to even get by. With the promise of a fresh start luring him to certain death in a sink or swim nightmare, he resolves himself to his selfishness. No one matters, but him.
That is, until he runs into a few new faces along the way, that suddenly remind Galgo that what it means to live, is to have something to live for.

Political intrigue and interpersonal relationships have a wonderful time together as a Yautja Prince tries to court a gruff, grumpy, human Knight who was only there to protect the Princess that was supposed to be married off in the first place.
With political interests riding on that union, Galgo is given little choice but to go along with it. Pretending to fall in love can't be that hard, right?
That is, until it actually happens.

Summary
There are infinitely many alternate universes in the multiverse in which Ahab and Galgo Helder exist, and where they exist, they will also find each other and fall in love. That seems to be a universal constant. Just how this happens is different each time.
The idea for this story I got from the wonderful fan film AVP Redemption by Alex Popov. I didn't want to accept that the Predator died at the end and figured he could be Ahab in an alternate universe being rescued by Galgo.

As Chief of Security Officer aboard the Geryon, Galgo Helder had thought himself a fairly brave man. Sure, he was selfish and self-serving, but if push came to shove he always came out a hero.
For all that the alien was unfamiliar to Galgo – although the human was rapidly becoming more familiar with more nonhuman extra-terrestrials than he ever wanted to be – he had met his fair share of glory-hunting assholes. He liked to count himself among them in his stories, but truth was, Galgo preferred his handsome mug on his face, and not smeared across a wall in some shithole down planet side. Rather live to tell the tale than die and be talked about.
