Charles pulled Edwin in and kissed him, and they moved onto a new chapter of their afterlives. One that Charles was really excited about.
Marriage. Of course it wasn’t all legal and official, but it was a proper marriage anyway.
And a proper marriage, of course, meant a proper honeymoon.
They’d fully agreed that Italy would be perfect. Rome’s cobbled streets would be aces to stroll, and there were loads of historical sites that Edwin exclaimed over. Charles liked the way his husband’s face lit up when he talked about something that he got passionate about. Though Charles had wanted to go seaside and chill by the ocean, and Edwin had been torn since he’d always wanted to ride a gondola in Venice, those wants paled in comparison to the idea of Rome. So, Rome it was.
But that didn’t mean Charles couldn’t give Edwin everything he wanted, could it?

Crystal felt the adrenaline rush in her system once again, not knowing what Joan was about to pull on them, when it seemed all was over. Charles raised his bat and got in front of Crystal once again, getting ready to fight. Edwin didn’t move, like he didn’t care what happened to him one bit.
“... your future” finished Joan, and her eyes rolled back and became white, like Crystal’s did. Crystal, and Charles in front of her, both let out a sigh of relief instinctively. She was going to make a prophecy, not kill them. But just as Crystal had exhaled that sigh, a wholly new kind of dread took hold of her. She was about to know her future, and apparently it was the worst gift she could receive.It’s been three months since Port Townsend, and the dead boy detectives get a case that is going to change everything, they just don’t know it yet.
