Divorced Lewis and Nico with children of divorce George and Kimi,
13 year old George Hamilton-Rosberg really went through it for a few months as he tried to figure out what to say to his family and what he wanted in karting (and if they were the same thing). He took the wrong inspiration from young Max Verstappen after seeing him with Jos and he spirals

Charles' first Father's Day following his father's death.
Lots of Grid Dad Seb and Lewis, with a healthy helping of emotional hurt/comfort for my favourite F1 driver. Follows on from the first part in my series, but you don't really need to have read it to understand what's going on.

Summary
Charles wanted to scream.
He wanted to rage.
He wanted to throw his stupid, useless steering wheel and shout every curse word he knew in every language he knew and he wanted to hit something and – Instead, he took a deep breath, then switched his radio on, for once not bothering to even try hiding the absolute devastation in his voice.
At least no one could see the tears on his face.

“Is this why you do not do Secret Santa?” Mick asked, waving his phone around wildly as he approached the couch.
Which - what?
“In this video – you said you have had… Well, that people said,” Mick trailed off as he dropped down on the couch next to Lewis, startling Roscoe awake with an adorable snuffle. As an apology, the younger man scratched behind the bulldog’s ears before passing his phone over to Lewis, video already on the screen as an explanation.
Lewis tapped play, his own voice filtering out of the phone as he watched himself – which was always an odd experience – play with puppies while discussing his previous experiences with Secret Santa.

Summary
Initially, Charles wasn’t too worried. He knew that Max had been Sim Racing the previous evening; it was why Charles hadn’t crashed at his place as he often did (when they had time off or plans the next morning), instead returning to his own apartment for the evening.
So, it was logical – if not expected – for Max to be running a few minutes late.
But, as a few minutes turned into 10, then into 20, Charles became increasingly stressed, smiling tightly at the organizers of the padel event that he and Max had agreed to play in, assuring them that Max must be on his way.

Lewis sighed as he dropped his bags in front of the door to his Monaco flat. He was late – later than expected – getting back to Monaco after the season finale in Abu Dhabi. He expected to find the apartment empty – he wasn’t supposed to pick Roscoe up until the morning, and it wasn’t like anyone else lived in his flat during his prolonged absences.
All that to say that Lewis was surprised to find the lights on – and even more surprised to see Roscoe wiggling his way out of the living room to greet him, happily panting and rubbing up against Lewis’ pants.

Summary
When Oscar practically burst into Lewis’ Driver’s Room in Las Vegas between the cancelled FP1 session and the delayed FP2 session, Lewis thought he could be forgiven (or at very least understood) for assuming there was some kind of emergency. Also, the older driver had been half asleep, George slumped comfortably against one shoulder, so he could admit that maybe he wasn’t at his most logical when Oscar appeared, facial expression just as wild as the untamed waves atop his head.
“Oscar?!” Lewis jolted up, alarmed. The movement, of course, dislodged a still sleeping George, who grumbled moodily.
“Thanksgiving!” was all the McLaren rookie blurted, somewhat nonsensically.

Lewis swore viciously as he watched Lando spin out in front of him just before Turn 12, sparks flying as his McLaren bottomed out before spinning into the wall. The older driver easily maneuvered his way around the debris, forced to turn away before he saw the outcome of Lando’s loss of control.
“Bono, is Lando okay?” Lewis demanded over the radio.
“We’re checking,” came Bono’s reply almost immediately.
“You’ve got his onboards, mate!” Lewis snapped back. “Is he okay?”

Summary
It wasn’t until George, Charles and Alex cornered Lewis in Mexico City, matching expressions of concerns on their faces, that Lewis realized he should have thought to check on Lando sooner.
Sure, Lando had his team, and Jon, but…
Lewis had already known that the McLaren driver had endured a dismal qualifying after making a mistake on his only run in Q1 and failing to make it through to Q2, ending up 17th on the grid. He’d also known how frustrated Lando had been in recent weeks, struggling to reconcile his performance with perceived mistakes, while still chasing that elusive first win.
Especially after Qatar.

Summary
Lewis was in his hotel room – doing his best not to pace nervously around the confined space – when the call from Toto finally came through, the resignation in his voice evident even through the tinny speaker of Lewis’ phone.
“They’re disqualifying you and Charles from the race,” Toto stated plainly. Lewis liked that about him – it could be abrasive, sure, but Toto never wasted time sugar-coating things. “The wear on the rear skid pads was too high.”
“So that’s it?”

“Would anyone care to explain why there’s a cow in the MTC?” Zak asked.
“Well, we were out of milk last night…” Carlos began awkwardly.
“… and I may have panicked,” Lando finished with a forced smile.
“Please tell me you did not steal somebody’s cow,” Zak sighed. Behind him, said cow mooed woefully from where it was still lingering in the main foyer of the MTC, much to the amusement of every staff member except Zak, apparently.

"This man [Nico Rosberg] knows Lewis Hamilton: friend, teammate, childhood buddy, rival - everything but a lover." - David Croft
After watching George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, and Lando Norris make it a British 1-2-3 in qualifying for the first time since the South African Grand Prix in 1968, Nico Rosberg makes an impromptu decision to attend the British Grand Prix. Once there, he realizes that his presence will come with some unexpected outcomes – that perhaps he should have expected – forcing both him and Lewis to finally face their failed friendship and the ensuing fallout head on after years of avoiding it.

Summary
Usually, Charles didn’t mind Lewis’ tendency to be everywhere except Monaco during their down time. Mostly because if he asked – or if they made plans – Lewis would be there, so it wasn’t as though he was unreachable.
It was just… Charles hadn’t exactly predicted this particular emergency, and now he was in Maranello, Max was in Tokyo, and Lewis was in New York. So, Charles was alone with a – really – very small problem. As in, the problem fit in the palm of his hand and wasn’t so much a problem as he was the greatest thing that had ever happened to Charles.
Thankfully, Lewis picked up his call on the second ring.

Summary
After qualifying in P8, Lewis and Bono were spending another late night huddled together, backs bent and necks craned as they poured over data from not only Qualifying, but also Free Practices, trying to figure out how best to salvage tomorrow’s race, when Lewis saw a flash of orange – no, papaya – caught his eye.
Turning, Lewis spotted Oscar hovering nervously in the doorway, clearly unwilling to enter a space that was so very Mercedes. Fortunately, Toto had gone back to the hotel at a reasonable hour – along with most of the Mercedes staff – so there was no one to chastise Oscar or glower in Lewis’ direction.
Except Bono, but Lewis had his back to his Race Engineer at the moment.

Summary
Lewis and Nico weren’t friends, not as they once had been. But they still lived in the same apartment building in Monaco, just as they always had. Which meant that they saw each other now and then – in the foyer, or in a lift, sometimes even in the hallways. Not to mention Nico’s increased presence on race weekends.
Despite everything, though, Lewis had never held anything but love in his heart for first Alaϊa, then eventually Naila (even if he’d had to wait ages to accidentally run into Vivian with the younger of their two girls in the hallway). Whatever had come between him and Nico, it wasn’t enough to dissuade Lewis’ heart from adoring his girls.
Somehow, that unconditional love had turned into Lewis sending a boxful of Christmas gifts to each of Nico’s girls.

Summary
Max Verstappen is new in the grid.
Max doesn’t want to go to his hotel room. He knew what was waiting for him.
When Max arrived in his room Jos was already there. Waiting. He didn't look up “That's what you call a race?” Jos hissed “You couldn't even make it to the finish.” He opened his mouth to explain- the engine, the smoke, the failure that had nothing to do with him-But Jos was already moving.
A sharp cuff to the side of the head sent Max recoiling, more from the shock than pain. It wasn't hard. Not yet. But it was enough. "Sainz beat you. Maybe he is the real talent." Jos turned and left, slamming the door. The teen let out a breath he hadn't realized holding. After five minutes his phone rang. A message from Carlos.

“Two weekends in a row,” Lewis murmured into Max’s ear. “You trying to make this a habit, kid?”
“I hope so, yes,” Max responded as he pulled away, grin still plastered to his face. “It is very lovely, sharing podiums with you, I think.”
“You say that now,” Nico Rosberg scoffed as he pushed past the pair of them – where they were still lingering in the hallway outside the cooldown room – barely sparing Lewis a glance. “Give it a few years.”

“Lewis,” came Oscar Piastri’s distinctive Australian accent, the relief impossible to miss as he practically sighed out Lewis’ name.
“Hey, kid – what’s going on?”
“It’s Logan,” Oscar stated bluntly – only to spiral into a nonsensical rant a moment later, voice growing more distressed with each passing moment. “Alex crashed, right? And the car is fucked, but there’s only on chassis, so Williams had been meeting for hours. Logan was supposed to ride home with me, but he told me to go on ahead, except now he’s not answering calls and Alex says he won’t leave his Driver’s Room and I’m not there and –”
