“If you were stuck in a timeloop, and you knew you had to stop something from happening, what would you do?”
“What 10-questions-to-ask-your-teammate-to-get-to-know-them site did you get that one from?” Lewis laughs, as he moves to pull the balaclava over his head. They have 5 minutes until they have to be ready in the car and admittedly, this moment might not be the best time to ask this kind of question.
“No, I mean it,” Charles insists, lifting his helmet from the stand, but holding it awkwardly in his hands, maintaining eye contact. “If you were stuck, what would you do?”
Lewis places his hand on his shoulder lightly, squeezing once. “We can talk about this after the race, yes?”
There won’t be an after the race, Charles thinks bitterly, but he nods his head anyway. “Yeah,” he agrees, “after the race, sure.”

Lewis leans slightly toward the microphone, intertwines his fingers, and smiles with that dangerous calm that always follows him.
“Surprised?” he repeats slowly, letting the echo linger. “No. I just wonder why you’re surprised. I never left.”

Where 33 year old Lewis Hamilton travels eight years into the future and finds himself surrounded by new faces and regulations. Oh, and apparently, he’s now a Ferrari driver and Charles Leclerc’s teammate.

After qualifying in P8, Lewis and Bono were spending another late night huddled together, backs bent and necks craned as they poured over data from not only Qualifying, but also Free Practices, trying to figure out how best to salvage tomorrow’s race, when Lewis saw a flash of orange – no, papaya – caught his eye.
Turning, Lewis spotted Oscar hovering nervously in the doorway, clearly unwilling to enter a space that was so very Mercedes. Fortunately, Toto had gone back to the hotel at a reasonable hour – along with most of the Mercedes staff – so there was no one to chastise Oscar or glower in Lewis’ direction.
Except Bono, but Lewis had his back to his Race Engineer at the moment.

"In another life, Daniel." Max whispered carefully and the emotion of that statement clogged his throat.
"I know." Daniel managed to whisper back.
Daniel's eyes closed as Max's hand shifted, tracing small circles across his high cheekbone. He felt Max's other hand touch his shoulder and he leaned into it.
Ever so gently, Daniel felt Max's lips press to the top of his forehead. Tears fell from his closed eyelids, and Max was quick to brush them away.
"Thank you for everything, Danny. I couldn't have asked for a better friend." Max replied softly against Daniel's forehead.
And with one more soft caress, Max's touched disappeared. Daniel opened his eyes a few moments later to find the seat next to him empty.

So! This is slightly longer than most of the other works in the series! I'm working on it out of order, so updates will be infrequent, but there should be one every two weeks at a minimum.
Plot-wise - Max gets slightly fed up with how his father is treating him and decides to leave, completely leaving 'Max Verstappen' behind him. Taking up a new identity, follow Max through from early life to 2024, with a very fandom-centric personification of all the people involved. Expect many secrets, both identities and relationships! Summary
Lewis heard the utterly heartbreaking sounds of George crying before he’d even entered the younger man’s Driver’s Room. He’d suspected he’d find George in a similar state after the way the day had gone, but he’d hoped – perhaps naively – that his teammate wouldn’t be quite so shaken up.
The younger Brit looked up as Lewis slipped into his Driver’s Room, gently closing the door behind himself. George's eyes were bloodshot and his cheeks wet with tears, shoulders shaking with the force of the sobs still shuddering through his thin frame.
“I… I’m… fine,” George hiccupped, making an honestly pathetic attempt at hiding his tears by hastily rubbing at his face. “Really, I’m fine.”
